At one point, the show was considered for choice by Fox executive Margaret Loesch, alongside Galaxy Rangers (Saban's attempted adaptation of Choujin Sentai Jetman (1991)), but Fox eventually chose "Super Dave" instead. The show didn't fare well in the ratings, forcing Fox to go with the "Galaxy Rangers" idea by Saban, using footage from the subsequent "Super Sentai" show Dinosaur Squadron Zyuranger (1992) and turned into Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993), which the premiere scored higher ratings.
