David Rodriguez, a writer/producer/director for film and television, died October 29 from complications of a stroke. He was 50.

Rodriguez was born in 1970 and raised in the Bronx by parents Millie and J.B. “David” Rodriguez. He spent his formative years at the New York Military Academy in Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY. A few years after graduating from N.Y.M.A., Rodriguez enlisted and served in the United States Marine Corps, following a family tradition of military service.

He then went on to work in Corrections and Law Enforcement, including serving time as an undercover narcotics officer in South Florida. In 2003, Rodriguez took the leap into the entertainment business to pursue his life-long dream of becoming a director.

Rodriguez worked steadily as a director, producer, and writer in film and television since 2004. In 2018 and 2019, he was the coexecutive producer/director on TNT’s Animal Kingdom for John Wells Productions, and directed...

The 2nd annual PollyGrind assaults Las Vegas during an epic length film festival that runs Oct. 8-17 at Theatre 7 with enough sleaze and violence to make Sin City residents feel right at home.

We now have a brand new trailer for the upcoming "Cash" crime thriller, starring Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Sean Bean (Lord of the Rings) and Victoria Profeta (Push). Check it out below. Plot: A young couple (Hemsworth, Profeta) is terrorized by a sociopathic criminal (Bean) after they find a suitcase full of money. "Cash" is written and directed by Stephen Milburn Anderson and has been picked up for distribution by Roadside Attractions. 2010 is the year of the Lindberg. The 33-year-old actor’s no stranger to the business, mind you. If you didn’t catch his early debut in Black Circle Boys, that’s a little horror flick you’re probably going to want to check out regardless. You might also have seen him in an episode of The X-Files or Buffy the Vampire Slayer once upon a time. Or maybe you remember him as Jesse in The Fast and the Furious or O’Dell in October Sky? Looks like the "Woman" is about to have her "Day" again thanks to CinTel Films and Anchor Bay Entertainment. Yep, another remake is on the way and according to IMDb the cast is taking shape quite nicely.

Steven R. Monroe's remake (which is also being filmed as Day of the Woman) is lensing right now in Louisiana or release next year via Anchor Bay. The cast so far includes:

Andrew Howard (Devil's Chair, Blood River, Lustig), Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Chad Lindberg (Push), Daniel Franzese (Killer Pad, War of the Worlds), Rodney Eastman (Joey in A A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 3: Dream Warriors and A Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4: The Dream Master), Saxon Sharbino, Amber Dawn Landrum, and Chad Lindberg (Push).

Chad Lindberg (Push), Daniel Franzese (Killer Pad, War of the Worlds), Rodney Eastman (Joey in A Nightmare on Elm Street 3 and 4), Sarah Butler, Jeff Branson, Saxon Sharbino, Amber Dawn Landrum have all joined Andrew Howard (Devil's Chair, Blood River, Lustig) in the remake of I Spit On Your Grave (also being filmed as Day Of The Woman), which is currently lensing in Lousiana for release next year via Anchor Bay. Being directed by Steven R. Monroe (Left in Darkness), a woman is abducted, brutally attacked and raped and then left for dead. She survives, hunts her attackers and dispatches them in graphic ways.

Big Fan (Director-screenwriter: Robert Siegel)

The world of a parking garage attendant who happens to be the New York Giants' biggest fan is turned upside down after an altercation with his favorite player. Cast: Patton Oswalt, Michael Rapaport, Kevin Corrigan, Marcia Jean Kurtz, Matt Servitto.

NEW YORK -- Natasha Henstridge has joined the cast of Dave Rodriguez's Anytown, an indie drama that examines a racist high school attack and its aftermath.

Henstridge (ABC's Eli Stone) will play a news anchor covering an attack on an Indian-American boy by two fellow students who videotape the crime. The event forces her to examine the media's post-Sept. 11 role in fueling hate crimes committed by youth.

Rodriguez (Push) is producing and directing the project as well as co-writing the script with Zak Meyers. Matt O'Leary (Brick), Marshall Allman (Prison Break), Jonathan Halyalkar and Paul Ben-Victor also star.

K2 Pictures, 13 Steps Entertainment and Dirty District Entertainment are producing. The film is shooting in Los Angeles after a stint in Louisiana. The Collective's Shaun Redick is repping worldwide sales rights.

Henstridge is repped by Paradigm and Dave Fleming at Mosaic Media Group. Rodriguez is repped by the Collective.

Thomas Ian Nicholas (American Pie), Jenny Mollen (Angel), Andrew Katos (Push), Diedrich Bader (The Drew Carey Show) and Nicole Eggert (Baywatch) are starring in National Lampoon's Cattle Call. Martin Guigui wrote the script and is directing the indie, which is being produced by National Lampoon Inc. and ProActive Media Group. The story follows of a group of friends who start a fake casting agency to meet women. The production, which is shooting in Los Angeles, also will feature cameos by Jonathan Winters and Paul Mazursky.
