In this 10- minute short we see Pentti Siimes as a man who goes through all these emotions. We see him meeting a woman in a dance place. We see him running to a wall and getting on a hospital bed.Only later he realizes there would have been a door there.Erkko Kivikoski is the director and writer of this Finnish experimental short movie.Ovi from 1965 is a rather comical experiment.Of course it works mostly due to the acting work by Pentti Siimes, who has proved his skills in comedy more than once.He has some funny facial expressions in this one.I always enjoy watching the work by Mr. Siimes, who turns 80 later this year. The part of the woman is played by Ritva Vepsä who does a brilliant job.She doesn't have any lines but it can all be done silent as well. You can hear Siimes say a few words and besides him you can hear the narrator. It's narrated by Arto Tuominen. In 1966 this won the Best Short Film- Jussi Award.I'd say it really deserved it.It proves us you can do a lot in 10 minutes.
