Intervention season 1 aired almost 20 years ago, and it's time to see where the cast is today. A&e's Intervention is a hard-hitting show about addiction with so many films centered around drugs, it's easy to forget the reality of it. The show has witnessed some intense addictions to things as seemingly innocuous as shopping and gaming to lethal addictions like fentanyl, alcohol, heroin, or meth.
When the participants accept the show's treatment, the audience never knows if they will stick to their sobriety. The show gives a short update at the end, but season 1 aired in 2005, so many fans of the show may wonder how are they all doing now. Alyson Markoff, the first person featured on Intervention, is seemingly doing well and spreading awareness about schizoaffective conditions. Vanessa Marquez, who had a shopping addiction, struggled with seizures and was tragically killed by police when she brandished a Bb gun. Tamela Turtle, who suffered from extreme self-harm addiction, is now happily married with two children but hasn't been active on social media in nearly ten years.

Oscilloscope Laboratories has snapped up U.S. rights to God & Country: The Rise of Christian Nationalism, a new documentary produced by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Rob Reiner (A Few Good Men). Featuring prominent faith leaders who shine a light on the dangerous implications of this growing movement, it’s slated for release in early 2024.
The film directed by five-time Emmy nominee Dan Partland (Intervention) looks at the implications of Christian Nationalism and how it distorts not only our constitutional republic, but Christianity itself. Featuring numerous prominent Christian thought leaders, the question it asks is, what happens when a faith built on love, sacrifice, and forgiveness grows political tentacles, conflating power, money, and belief into hyper-nationalism?
In addition to the always politically active and socially conscious Rob Reiner, producers included Michele Reiner, Steve Okin, and Jeff Okin. Among those offering expert commentary in the doc are political commentator and author David French; VeggieTales...

While Baldur's Gate 3 doesn't fully adhere to Dungeons & Dragons mechanics, one class in particular has a feature that can be confusing to newcomers and experienced tabletop players alike - the cleric's Divine Intervention. Like in DnD, Divine Intervention is gained by clerics at level 10, and can be an incredibly powerful feature with significantly limited use. Much like many of the game's other mechanics, however, Divine Intervention in Baldur's Gate 3 differs significantly from its implementation in the rules of the tabletop game.
Although the mechanics Baldur's Gate 3 are, for the most part, adapted from fifth edition DnD, several changes have been made, both to better fit the medium of a video game, and to provide some necessary buffs or changes to certain classes or features. The monk class in Baldur's Gate 3, for example, is drastically improved from it's DnD 5e iteration, with a more plentiful supply of ki points and more powerful class features.

Melanie Lynskey is opening up about drifting apart from her once-close friend and Heavenly Creatures co-star Kate Winslet.
While speaking with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast Thursday about the nature of the industry and how people “move on” following projects, the Yellowjackets actress explained that “When I lost touch with Kate, it was more heartbreaking than some breakups that I’ve had.
“It was so painful because it wasn’t like anything happened, it’s just she became a gigantic international movie star and she didn’t have a lot of time,” she added. “I wouldn’t hear from her, you know, and it just sort of like gradually happened, and it happens in relationships. People kind of drift apart, but it was so painful for me.”

It’s ironic but unavoidable that the greatest annual celebration of film should be a television special — but that’s just how it is. March often means Oscar season, a time for cinephiles to boot up that small screen you use for movies and use it to see if they win any awards during a telecast.
If you don’t have TV service anymore, Hulu has you covered with a pre-Oscars telecast as well as two red carpet specials before and after the main event. Though the ceremony itself won’t be livestreamed on Hulu, it will be added the next morning, like regular ABC programming. Awards viewership has been in general decline over the past several years, but next-day streaming gives curious viewers a chance to join the conversation and boost those Oscar ratings after the live show. Addiction is a scourge on America; it ruins lives, devastates families, and leaves gaping psychic wounds that, in many cases, never heal. This is true whether it's opioid addiction, alcoholism, or an eating disorder. And when it comes to families, the pain and suffering are often passed down, generation to generation.

Today’s television landscape would look like an alien planet to visitors from 2002. Cable had only begun to hit its stride with original programming, “streaming” TV had not yet taken hold, binging an entire new series in a weekend wasn’t possible. And despite the existence of hundreds of channel options, a series focusing seriously on mental health was nowhere to be found.
Then Dr. Phil McGraw came along. After several tryouts on “The Oprah Winfrey Show,” the folksy, mustached, straight talking doctor of psychology landed his own series. “Dr. Phil” premiered on Sept. 16, 2002 — and the floodgates were officially opened. Equal parts insight and heartfelt entertainment therapy, with a sprinkle of ratings-goosing sensationalism, McGraw and his team, which includes his wife, Robin, on camera and executive producer Carla Pennington behind it, kicked off with an episode focusing on stressed-out parents who yelled at their kids.
Twenty seasons later, they’ve never looked back.

[Editor’s Note: The following contains minor spoilers for “Pose” Season 3.]
Anyone who’s been watching “Pose” over its history-making FX run won’t be surprised to learn the colorful show about New York’s ball culture definitely goes out with a bang. No expense was spared on the third and final season of Ryan Murphy’s most influential period melodrama — and the makeup and costumes are just as indulgent as the sentimental storytelling. With all of the pain and heartache trans people of color face in the real world, “Pose” laughs in face of reality by throwing something much more celebratory onscreen. Throughout all three seasons, “Pose” remains the fiercest advocate for itself — and for the power of living your truth.
Not that “Pose” ignores the ravages of the AIDS crisis, discrimination, and violence faced by the most marginalized (and most fabulous) among us. This season pulls no punches with the tragic realities of life for LGBTQ people...

Not that “Pose” ignores the ravages of the AIDS crisis, discrimination, and violence faced by the most marginalized (and most fabulous) among us. This season pulls no punches with the tragic realities of life for LGBTQ people...

In June, A&e canceled its flagship series Live Pd in the wake of the killing of George Floyd and the subsequent protests against police brutality.
The cancelation came a month after the network renewed the show for an additional 160 episodes. Live Pd, which aired Friday and Saturday nights from 9 Pm-12 Am, was one of the highest-rated shows on basic cable.
One of the challenges now for A&e and parent company A+E Networks is how to replace a show that aired for so many hours across the schedule.
A+E Networks President of Programming Rob Sharenow lifted the lid on the decision making process in a virtual Edinburgh International TV Festival session moderated by Deadline.
“That was certainly a challenging moment for the brand, for our country, for the network but A&e is a brand that really listens to culture and has always prided itself on being part of...

The last four years of President Donald Trump’s tenure has been defined by endless lies, a revolving door of senior White House staffers, name-calling, and all-around hostility, making for a chaotic state of affairs before even diving into his policy record. As such, the inner workings of the president’s mind has sparked troubled curiosity from both sides of the aisle. Speaking during the opening night of the Democratic National Convention this week, former first lady Michelle Obama cited the “chaos, division, and a total and utter lack of empathy” under Trump as among the chief reasons why he’s unfit to serve.
Now, an upcoming documentary seeks to make sense of it all. Below, check out an exclusive clip from “#Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump.” With interviews from doctors and mental health professionals, the film offers an analysis of the behavior, psyche, condition, and stability of Trump,...

Spending some time thinking about what she'd want in a forever partner, Jennifer Lawrence came up with an actual list. And we have to admit, it's relatable Af. "Somebody that has the same taste in reality TV," she detailed to Vanity Fair in 2014, her preferred viewing including Shark Tank, Real Housewives, Dance Moms and Intervention. [Those relationships] are deeper because you can be your true self with somebody, and somebody can be their true self with you." Most of all, she summed up,...
