Although this film was a box office failure, the title song "Bachke Rehna Re Baba" was a huge hit at the clubs.
In the original script, the characters of Rukmini and Padmini were mother and daughter. But Rekha didn't want to play the role of a mother, so the characters were changed to aunt and niece.
The film had a theatrical release in Canada.
