ESPN is giving an award to Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex.

Harry will receive the 2024 Pat Tillman Award for Service at this year’s Espy Awards, which will be held July 11 on ABC, and be hosted by tennis legend Serena Williams.

The Tillman award is “given to a person with a strong connection to sports who has served others in a way that echoes the legacy of the former NFL player and U.S. Army Ranger, Pat Tillman,” per ESPN.

Tillman was a safety for the Arizona Cardinals who enlisted in the U.S. Army after the 9/11 attacks. He was killed in Afghanistan in 2004 in a friendly fire incident.

The Pat Tillman Award has traditionally gone to people who are not household names, including veterans Jake Wood in 2018 and Gretchen Evans in 2022, though it has been given to athletes in the past, including English soccer star Marcus Rashford in 2021 and...

Basketball star Caitlin Clark, whose stellar year included breaking an NCAA scoring record and becoming the first pick the WNBA draft, leads all athletes with three nominations for the 2024 Espy Awards that were unveiled Wednesday.

Clark is nommed in three categories: Record-Breaking Performance for her NCAA feat, Best College Athlete, Women’s Sports and in the marquee Best Athlete, Women’s Sports, where she is joined by U.S. Open champion Coco Gauff, two-time major golf champion Nelly Korda and WNBA star A’ja Wilson.

In the race for Best Athlete, Men’s Sports, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes returns to defend his 2023 Espy win in the category after leading the Chiefs to their second Super Bowl win in a row this year. Other nominees include the Los Angeles Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani, Edmonton Oilers star Connor McDavid and Masters winner Scottie Scheffler.

Nickelodeon's first annual Kids Choice Sports Awards brought athletes into the spotlight yet again – one day after the Espy Awards – celebrating sports stars that kid's around the country love the most.

Live! with Kelly and Michael star Michael Strahan hosted the evening's festivities, where he was joined on stage by sports luminaries such as David Beckham and Olympic Gold Medalist Gabby Douglas, among others. It's always a night full of sportstastic fun when the 2014 Espy Awards go down in Los Angeles. The spectacular event took place this evening (July 16) inside the Nokia Live Theater and featured the wonderful emcee skills of rapper Drake.

As for the evening's winners, the Best Team prize went to the Seattle Seahawks and Best Male and Female Athlete went to Kevin Durant (Oklahoma City Thunder) and Ronda Rousey (Ufc fighter), respectively.

Before it all goes down inside the Nokia Theatre La Live tonight (July 16), a number of famous faces from sports and Hollywood are set to walk the red carpet ahead of the 2014 Espy Awards.

The Los Angeles event always draws a fabulous crowd of lovely faces, and this year celebrity guests include Jessica Alba, Danica Patrick, Jeff Bridges and Maria Sharapova - just to name a few.
