True. Lambrecht's only entertainment interest prior to OCTOBER MOON was performing music and some occasional modeling. Lambrecht was an aquaintence of the director, who auditioned Lambrecht without letting the musician know his intent to cast him in any role.
Yes. The role of "Corin" was originally offered to actor Christopher D. Harder (5 DARK SOULS), who had to decline due to other committments.
President Bush's motorcade came directly past one of the filming locations in Racine, WI. Secret Service, positioned on the roof top and surrounding property, literally refused to let filming take place, or to let the cast/crew leave to go to another location until the motorcade had passed over 3 hours later.
To an extent. Characters, conversations, and certain situations did occur in real life, including some of the "obsession" sequences, but the end result was not a murder in real life.
O'Dea's agent had gotten in contact with writer/director Jason Paul Collum when he placed an ad in a Los Angeles trade paper seeking actresses from other popular horror films for interviews in Femme Fatales magazine. Though not on the list posted, O'Dea's agent thought Collum might be interested in meeting with her. They did, and one year later Collum asked O'Dea to appear in his documentary SOMETHING TO SCREAM ABOUT. Collum then designed the role of "Emily Hamilton" in OCTOBER MOON specifically for O'Dea, who reprised the role in the 2007 sequel NOVEMBER SON.
Yes, albeit a small one. The film was given 20 screenings throughout Wisconsin and Illinois from September 29, 2005 through February 2006 when it was released on DVD, and has continued to screen at film festivals since.
Yes, but the name and ownership has since changed. It is now called Club Icon and is located in Kenosha, WI just north of Hwy 50 off I-94.
Tempe Video, who owns the DVD rights to OCTOBER MOON, switched distributors in the fall of 2006, resulting in all their features being pulled and orders unfilled. They signed with mega-distruibutors Baker & Taylor and Ingram in late 2006 and copies are once again showing up on-line and in stores. Copies are also available for rent through many online retailers.
The most common question we receive. It was an ill-fated marketing choice. OCTOBER MOON was designed to follow the narrative of CARRIE (1976), in that it's a drama/comedy which evoles into a thriller and ultimately ends as a horror film. Since there were so many film genres overlapping, it was difficult to pin-point which audience should be marketed to. Since CARRIE is widely considered a horror film (even though nothing frightening happends until the last 20 minutes), the makers of OCTOBER MOON felt it was best to follow the same strategy.
