I wanted to like this movie because I loved Lisa Ray in Water. However, she's regretting she was ever associated with this dreadful movie, featuring three dorks. The lead character has the personality of a fire hydrant. The guy who starred in the Bombay Dreams, the greatest musical flop in Broadway history, hasn't found steady work since because his acting sucks and he has a face for Broadway - best seen far away. Russell Peters is funny on-stage, but he's just another loser in this film.
Beyond Lisa Ray, there's no one else worth watching. It's neither funny nor romantic. Don't waste your time.

Neil (Maulik Pancholy) is nearing thirty and has, finally, just moved in with his longtime girlfriend, Angel (Lisa Ray). But, instead of "couple bliss", Neil is experiencing personal turmoil. This togetherness is a huge step, for he has one set of toes in bachelorville and the other in commitment. Many of his friends, you see, are footloose and fancy free. Then, too, he is pondering his chosen career and other weighty life matters. Therefore, he is, as some pals state, having a "quarter life crisis", where decisions he makes are likely to affect the rest of his days. Angel, on the other hand, has no qualms about inviting Neil to share her life and doesn't understand why he is stepping away. But, they choose to spend some days apart. Urged by his friends, Neil tries "speed dating" to see if there is another lady who might suit him better. Mayhem ensues. Next, Neil goes to other various pickup spots, in a frenzy of panic. What he doesn't seem to do is indulge in some heavy thinking or call Angel to discuss matters. Is this couple headed for romantic disaster? This movie has some good points to make about the 20-somethings issues, which indeed are as heavy as those in midlife crisis. Yes, it is a big step to finally give your heart to one person and to solidify your career pursuits. As Neil, Pancholy gives a comic and tender performance and Ray compliments him nicely. The rest of the cast, a mixture of Hindi and non-Hindi members, is fun as well. The sets in Manhattan are always a treat while costumes, script and the energetic direction move things along in a smooth manner. For some, there are some scenes of a sexual nature that might offend. But, as they are minimal, most viewers won't be extremely upset. So, if you like romcoms, here is another one to secure for some quiet night at home.
I read the comments of the cynics and felt I had to write something.... predictable? yes, but so are all the formula Hollywood romantic comedies and so what!! If this film had "A" list stars it would have been received in a different light. I was curious to find out how will they tell the story which has been told a million times over, in an interesting and entertaining way and I found that it was very clever the way the story unfolds. However what I enjoyed the most was to see Indian actors playing the normal characters. There is no stereotypical Indian caricature stuff in this film. I would have loved to see Russell Peters more though. Both the lead actors are great together. A great ensemble cast. Good cinematography and music too!
My girlfriend had a ticket to the film festival screening of this movie. I was reluctant to go for a romantic comedy but I am glad I went. This film is nothing like what the other "Festival" films are like. It looks and feels like a real Hollywood film. Great cast. The Limo Driver is hilarious and Lisa Ray is gorgeous. I saw her in "Water" but I liked her in this film even better. The lead actor (from Weeds) is very good. I enjoyed the story, I never anticipated twists in the plot they were very clever. But icing on the cake is Music, It is very good. I have heard these composers play at a club in Brooklyn they are very good. Does anyone know if the sound track of this film is available? I strongly recommend everyone to go and see this film. TWO THUMBS UP for me!!
These guys are really good. Didn't realize that the film was made in 2007. I hope to see these actors more often on mainstream films and television. Great music track!
Been stuck inside and binge watching a lot of bad TV lately, but this one was a good relief. Reminded me of the crazy dating scene in NY city when I lived there. My fiancé and I watched it last night and it put us in a happy place! Surprisingly he too liked it!
Loved this NYC dating movie. Watched it on Prime last weekend. first - I wrongly thought some scenes were copied from other movies and TV shows but then when I saw the release date, I realized that this movie came out way before those other films and TV shows!! Even though the movie was made in 2006, I found it very entertaining because I have faced some of the same horror stories in NYC dating scene. I guess somethings don't change.
Both lead actors are superb. They have a great chemistry!! And of course, Russell Peters is awesome!! If you are in the mood for a light comedy, I would certainly recommend this movie!

The band introduced in this film, had performed in my college........I loved them. Unfortunately they split up but it was great to see them on scree! The movie was enjoyable as well........My BF loved it as well. I didn't realize that this movie was made a while back because a lot of the actors are well-known today. If you are in mood for light hearted comedy, I would strongly recommend this movie!

This movie stars gorgeous Candian (YEAH!!) actress Lisa Ray, She shows her romantic side in this film, she is not only stunningly beautiful but is a fantastic actress. Maulik Pancholy is very charming (does anyone find him like Indian Zach Braff??). Saw him in Weeds and loved him but here he is very mature. Russell Peters was the surprisingly accomplished performance. He shows that he is not just another stand-up, THIS GUY CAN ACT!!! Music is outstanding. Some great surprising twists in the story. This NY dating scene chick flick should do well whenever it comes out. 5 stars***** all the way!!!

Saw this movie last weekend. It is funny and light hearted. All the female actors in this film are hilarious and very talented! Have seen few of them in some major shows and movies! Even though it has a typical male protagonist, I enjoyed the unapologetic and fun women in this film. And ya great story twist, didn't expect that at all.
If you are in mood for nothing serious, check this one out.

I acted recently with Russell Peters in a movie. The guy is funny. Though he plays somewhat serious character in this movie. I was pleasantly surprised how much I enjoyed this film. How come Lisa Ray is not in more movies?? She is drop-dead GORGIOUS!!
I have loved Russell's stand up routine since I saw him at the Apollo 15 years back. He has come a long way. I was surprised to see that he could act so well. Usually, stand ups are poor actors but Russell was great in this film. Rest of the cast is great as well. Overall, a fun romantic comedy.
