"The Simpsons" has been running for thirty-six seasons, and even longer if you count the "Tracey Ullman" years, which means their list of celebrity guest stars has grown long. From Dustin Hoffman in season 2's "Lisa's Substitute" to John Cena in the season 36 premiere, the "Simpsons" writers have never shied from letting an A-lister stop by for the day. Most guest stars only perform for the show once or twice, often to play themselves, but sometimes, the guest star plays a character so memorable that keep coming back even thirty years later, like Kelsey Grammer with Sideshow Bob.
For the show's creator Matt Groening, there are a few celebrities that have managed to stick out from the pack. When asked to name his three favorite guest stars in a 2021 interview, he named Albert Brooks, Werner Herzog, and Anne Hathaway.

One of the long-running stars on “The Simpsons” is retiring. Pamela Hayden, best known for voicing Millhouse, is stepping away from the series after 35 years.
“After much deliberation, I have decided to retire from ‘The Simpsons’ to pursue other creative outlets. Thanks to everyone for their love and support!” Hayden said in a statement.
To celebrate all that she’s done for the show, Fox’s Animation Domination block released a video praising the voice actor. “People are always saying what a nerd [Millhouse] is. But one thing that I love about Millhouse is he’s always getting knocked down but he keeps getting up,” Hayden says in the video. “I love the little guy. It’s this wonderful analogy for life.” Watch the full tribute to Hayden’s work below:
In addition to voicing Millhouse, Harden voiced Rod Flanders, Jimbo Jones and several other characters in Fox’s long-running animated comedy.

“The Simpsons” voice actor Pamela Hayden, who played Milhouse and a variety of other characters, announced she is retiring from the show after 35 years.
Her final episode will be “Treehouse of Horror Presents: Simpsons Wicked This Way Comes,” airing Nov. 24.
Hayden voiced Milhouse Van Houten, the blue-haired best friend of Bart Simpson, as well as the school bully Jimbo Jones, Ned Flanders’ son Rod (and sometimes his other son Todd), Chief Wiggum’s wife Sarah and Lisa’s friend Janey Powell.
She has been a mainstay on “The Simpsons” since its very first episode in 1989, and she is credited in 694 episodes of the animated sitcom, according to IMDb. Fox will now begin casting for her characters.
“People come up to me and they quote Milhouse lines,” Hayden said in a video announcing her retirement, which included a montage of Milhouse clips. “People are always saying what a nerd he is.

Making The Simpsons Movie must have been a daunting task. How do you honor nearly 20 years of iconic material in one 90-minute feature? Most recurring Simpsons characters got at least one moment to shine in the movie — from Krusty the Clown, to Hans Moleman, to Kent Brockman. And the movie even found ways to include brief cameos from more obscure characters like Itchy & Scratchy creator Chester J. Lampwick, and foul-mouthed puppet Gabbo.
Which makes it all the more strange that one of the show’s most well-known characters was absolutely nowhere to be found in The Simpsons Movie: Bart’s mortal enemy Dr. Demento Sideshow Bob.
Bob Terwilliger is obviously one of the keystones of the show’s mythology, but didn’t make the cut for the movie? This wasn’t always the plan, it turns out. Some story elements shifted around during production; the original villain of The Simpsons...

They don’t hand out awards for when you lose your mother, but if they did, Homer Simpsons’ trophy case would be full.
As Homer’s many experiences reconnecting with Mona before another untimely departure can attest, there aren’t many things in this world that are less funny than losing your mom. No matter what age you are when you experience this unique grief, it’s extremely hard to see how any joy can come out of such a loss, which is exactly why comedy savants like legendary Simpsons writer, showrunner and producer Mike Reiss get paid the big bucks: Nobody can do what they do quite as well as they do it.
Reiss sadly lost his mother recently, and, to celebrate her memory, he made an incredible joke that he thinks would have killed with his mom:

Matt Groening has been asked many times as to why he chose to make the Simpsons yellow, and he typically responds with some version of "I wanted them to look unique." For its first few seasons, "The Simpsons" were considered very strange and outré. Despite their popularity, they had a subversive, cynical punk sensibility that came to inform the art of the decade that followed. After enough time, though, the yellowness of the Simpsons became a widely accepted facet of their design, and they stopped looking quite as striking. Just as one might stop noticing that Mickey Mouse wears gloves, or Donald Duck has no pants.
The color scheme of "The Simpsons" was always a little odd. The walls of the Simpsons' house, for instance, are pink, as is the Simpsons family car. Their TV is purple, and their carpets are a deep teal. Bart always wore teal shorts and a blood orange shirt,...

I don’t know what’s more surprising — the fact that the most influential and prolific writer in the history of The Simpsons has only given one interview in his entire life, or the fact that John Swartzwelder has a Twitter account.
The Simpsons writers’ room has long been a haven for the most brilliant and unusual minds in all of entertainment, with none more so than that of Swartzwelder, The Simpsons’ reclusive script-writing savant whose contributions to the show still stand unmatched through 36 seasons and counting. During his time on the show, Swartzwelder wrote a record 59 total episodes of The Simpsons, mostly remotely, all while chain-smoking cigarettes and guzzling gallons of coffee like a detective in a hardboiled crime novel. In 2007, Swartzwelder briefly returned to the series to co-write The Simpsons Movie before returning to his reclusivity, occasionally publishing an absurdist novel or short story from his isolation.

With franchises now being the bread and butter of movie studios, nostalgia driving a new gold rush, and animation always being a reliable bet for studios, it's rather surprising that we still haven't had a sequel to "The Simpsons Movie." The first film remains a fantastic movie, a best-case scenario for bringing a cultural phenomenon from TV to the big screen and having the show continue rather than end with a big blockbuster finale. It should be noted, though, that it's not for lack of trying that we haven't gotten a sequel.
One of the biggest issues with "The Simpsons Movie" is its villain, a one-off character that feels a bit random considering there are already characters perfectly suited for the role of a big movie supervillain right there in the show — including one that almost made it into the film. Now, over 15 years after the "Simpson Movie" hit theaters,...

Ten years ago today, the television world went from “I can’t believe The Simpsons is still on the air…” to “I can’t believe The Simpsons is still on the air!” with one glorious, nostalgic, record-breaking binge watch.
On August 21, 2014, the newly founded basic cable channel Fxx, a comedy-focused expansion of FX Networks, launched their plan to drum up viewership, celebrate their acquisition of syndication rights for the The Simpsons and make television history with the start of a 12-day marathon of every Simpsons episode ever made up until that point, including a bonus airing of The Simpsons Movie. I don’t even really like cats, and yet here I am, slightly hungover on a Saturday morning, shoving popcorn in my face at one of New York’s finest cinemas watching hundreds of kitty videos back to back to back on the big screen.

The event has grown steadily for the past few years. Its 2024 edition, held Aug. 3 and 4, netted $280,000, doubling its 2023 gross and raising nearly $30,000 for local animal shelters and welfare organizations. It's the end of an era. Following the release of the final episode of "Demon Slayer" season 4, Crunchyroll announced it will release "Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle" as a trilogy of films to cap off the hugely popular adaptation of Koyoharu Gotoge's manga of the same name.
The anime follows Tanjiro Kamado, a boy whose family is killed by a demon and who decides to join the elite Demon Slayer Corps in order to find a way to turn his younger sister, Nezuko, into a human after she got transformed into a demon. This news may be surprising to some fans, especially considering the show just premiered in 2019 which — despite what the Covid-19 lockdowns did to our brains — was technically not that long ago. There’s only one place where you can buy a squishee, a hot dog laced with Band-Aids and flies and the latest issue of Gigantic Asses magazine: the Kwik-e-Mart, the go-to convenience store for Springfieldians in The Simpsons.
Of course, we haven’t seen the store much since its proprietor, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, was dropped from the show, for good reason. And The Simpsons is probably not going to bring back one-time clerk James Woods anytime, either. Why is it that every single Kwik-e-Mart employee is so wildly problematic?
Despite the cultural reckoning over Apu, the Kwik-e-Mart has remained a fixture of Simpsons fandom. After all, there’s still a life-sized Kwik-e-Mart facsimile at Universal Studios in Hollywood and Florida — although it’s full of overpriced Simpsons merch, not overpriced groceries.
But now there’s an actual Kwik-e-Mart convenience store you can visit — if you happen to be in Tijuana, Mexico.

After more than 30 years on TV, The Simpsons seems to have maintained good relationships with several prominent rock stars, as evidenced by the time Homer opened for The Smashing Pumpkins, palled around with Mick Jagger and freaked out over George Harrison’s brownie. Even Green Day apparently didn’t mind being killed off via toxic sludge in The Simpsons Movie.
But one rocker isn’t too happy with The Simpsons, and probably isn’t going to back down anytime soon.
As we mentioned recently, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan has repeatedly claimed that his notorious ‘80s boozing inspired the name of Springfield’s favorite beer. He brought up the issue again in an interview earlier this month, but stressed that he wasn’t interested in taking any legal action against The Simpsons — even though he could potentially win the rights to valuable IP like the Seven Duffs.

Emmy award-winning actress Julie Kavner became a household name as the titular "Rhoda" in the very first spin-off of "The Mary Tyler Moore Show." She's enjoyed a life of comedic and character acting for decades (she's Adam Sandler's mom in "Click!"), but the general public probably knows her best as TV's longest-running sitcom mom — Marge Simpson. Kavner also voices the other major women in the Bouvier family. Still, her trademark raspy voice has helped make Marge an icon. She received her second Emmy in 1992 for voicing the character and an Annie Award nomination for her performance in "The Simpsons Movie."
Marge has been at the center of some of the all-time great episodes of "The Simpsons," and in recent years she's become a bit of a meme queen in her own right. Marge loves her family, takes pride in her home, is a devoutly religious woman, and is the...

Matt Groening's animated series "The Simpsons" hasn't been good since season [fill in the blank].
That seems to be a common discussion within "Simpsons" circles, anyway. There seems to be a general, unrecorded consensus that the glory days of "The Simpsons" are behind it, and that the show has been spinning its wheels since those glory days. There is no consensus, however, when those glory days were exactly. Some older "Simpsons" fans feel that the series peaked somewhere around season five or six. Other, younger viewers feel that the show was just fine up until the release of "The Simpsons Movie" in 2007. Just like "Saturday Night Live," however, the present always seems to be the worst time for the show.
The fact of the matter is that "The Simpsons" has been running consistently since 1989, having made 768 episodes over 35 seasons. It is a cultural presence that once spearheaded the very tone of all popular culture,...

Pixar's Inside Out 2 has sent the studio back to #1 with a massive $155 million opening weekend in North America. Not only has this helped restore Pixar's reputation after a rough few years courtesy of the pandemic (and ousted Disney CEO Bob Chapek), but it comes at a time when theaters are desperate for box office hits.
As we first explained on Toonado.com, Inside Out 2 easily has topped the year's previous biggest debuts: Dune: Part Two ($82.5 million) and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire ($80 million) by almost double.
It's also the first movie since last July's Barbie to open north of $100 million in the U.S. However, this news means there's a strong likelihood that Pixar will prioritise sequels moving forward instead of the original stories which put them on the map (Toy Story 5 is already in development).

"I will not waste chalk." This is the first phrase eternal troublemaker Bart Simpson wrote on an animated blackboard in the opening credits of the second-ever episode of "The Simpsons." That was in January 1990, and though the seminal cartoon sitcom's "chalkboard gags" (as they'd soon be known) have ebbed and flowed in frequency over the years, it's safe to say that Bart has, by now, written thousands of words on that same old dusty board.
The typical, classic "Simpsons" chalkboard gag is written in Bart's voice –- unapologetic and ornery, as if he's blowing a giant raspberry in the face of authority. In the decades since the visual joke caught on, though, the chalkboard gags have become more meta and at times offered knowing winks at the state of the world that clearly come directly from the show's writers' room. In "The Simpsons Movie," for example, Bart writes "I will not illegally download this movie.

Just when you got the Spider-Pig song out of your head comes word that another Simpsons movie could be greenlit…if the circumstances are just right. But The Simpsons showrunner Al Jean says the existence of a sequel actually has nothing to do with the record-setting sitcom itself but rather another property altogether.
Speaking with Screen Rant, Al Jean said that a Simpsons Movie sequel more centers around how well animated movies can still do at the box office. “I think it’s a bigger issue than The Simpsons. On several levels, we’re really hoping for Inside Out 2 to do great this summer. "The Simpsons" is a show home to innumerable colorful characters, including two space aliens named Kang and Kodos. How do aliens fit into the world of Springfield? Out of canon, of course! Created by Jay Kogen and Wallace Wolodarsky, the alien characters made their debut on the Halloween episode "Treehouse of Horror," and have appeared in every "Treehouse of Horror" episode since (with one exception: "Treehouse of Horror Xxi").
These episodes are understood to take place outside of the standard "Simpsons" continuity, which means aliens can pop up and have no effect on the show's "normal" world. While Kang and Kodos mostly get cameo appearances, they occasionally get their own major "Treehouse of Horror" plotlines, like the time they famously switched places with then-presidential candidates Bill Clinton and Bob Dole for "Treehouse of Horror VII." This is the episode that gave us the now-famous line, "Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Dr. Julius Hibbert first appeared on "The Simpsons" in the episode "Bart the Daredevil". In that particular episode, Bart (Nancy Cartwright) was toying with the idea of being an Evel Knieval-type stunt performer, aiming to leap over Springfield Gorge on a skateboard. As a warning, Bart was taken to see Dr. Hibbert who took the boy to a special wing of Springfield hospital. In it were nothing but children who had injured themselves after imitating stunts they saw on TV. "I won't even subject you to the horrors of our Three Stooges ward," Dr. Hibbert gravely intones.
From 1990 through 2021, Dr. Hibbert was played by Harry Shearer. When viewers became sensitive to how many white actors have played animated Black characters throughout the history of animation, Shearer stepped aside and Kevin Michael Richardson took over the role.
Dr. Hibbert was kindly, bemused, but possessed of a strangely cold bedside manner. When Bart comes to see Dr.

Do you like the Stonecutters song? How about "See My Vest"? Were you impressed when Bart Simpson and Michael Jackson sang a birthday song to Lisa? How do you feel about the celebrity-laced barn-burner "We're Sending Out Love Down the Well"? Do you like the stage musicals of "Checking In," or "Stop the Planet of the Apes! I Want to Get Off!"? I'm personally fond of the song about Spirngfield's brothel, "Spring in Springfield," a throwback to bawdy farces of the 1930s. And who could forget when Lyle Lanley led the entire town in a musical number about a monorail? Or when Homer, Apu, Seymour Skinner, and Barney formed a barbershop quartet to perform "Baby on Board"?
Point being "The Simpsons" has featured many, many original songs in its 850-year tenure on television, and that doesn't even count the hit record "The Simpsons Sing the Blues" from 1990. Many of the...

In 1977, aspiring cartoonist Matt Groening moved from his hometown of Portland, Oregon to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a writer. Like most people who move to Los Angeles with dreams of becoming a writer, he took on some of the most menial jobs imaginable. Groening worked in a sewage treatment plant, as a dishwasher, and as a waiter. All the while, Groening worked on what would become his signature creation, the "Life in Hell" comic strip.
Groening would leave "Life in Hell" comics in a small corner of Licorice Pizza, the celebrated Los Angeles record store where he occasionally worked. It was an embittered strip about modern life, a harsh critique of life, love, school, and work. Groening attacked everything the establishment celebrated as normal and good, finding nothing but misery in the real world.
"Life in Hell" was picked up by Wet Magazine and, later the Los Angeles Reader.

"What state is Springfield in?" is a question almost every "The Simpsons" fan has asked, desperate to bring the characters a bit closer to reality. It's also a question with no answer (unlike the recently-answered question of how Homer Simpson keeps his job).
The book "The Springfield Confidential" -- an inside look at "The Simpsons" by former showrunner Mike Reiss (with help from Mathew Klickstein) -- explains the origin of Springfield's name. Creator Matt Groening chose it because it was such a common and generic name for American towns. Springfield was also the name of the town in the 1950s sitcom "Father Knows Best," which likewise treated its setting as "Anytown, USA."
"I was thrilled because I imagined that [Springfield in 'Father Knows Best'] was the town next to Portland, [Oregon], my hometown. When I grew up, I realized it was just a fictitious name," Groening recounted.
Aside from Oregon, here are some other notable Springfields in the United States.

Tim Allen is one step closer to returning to ABC for a third time. The Alphabet net has given a pilot order to his latest sitcom, “Shifting Gears,” from 20th Television. Allen is on board to star and executive produce the multi-cam sitcom pilot — which is still a working title — which will also be written and executive produced by Mike Scully and Julie Thacker Scully.
In the project, Allen plays Matt, the “stubborn, widowed owner of a classic car restoration shop. When Matt’s estranged daughter and her teenage kids move into his house, the real restoration begins.”
Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Richard Baker and Rick Messina are the non-writing exec producers on the show.
“Shifting Gears” continues Allen’s long association with ABC and Disney, including the long-running hit (1991-1997) “Home Improvement.” Allen later starred on ABC’s “Last Man Standing,” which aired on the Alphabet web from 2011 to...

"The Simpsons" will turn 35 in 2024 -- and like just about any other Millennial, it celebrated becoming a legal adult (with "The Simpsons Movie" in 2007) blissfully unaware of the obstacles awaiting in its future, had a proper quarter-life crisis, and now Disney owns its childhood. Entire empires have risen and fallen since the series began in 1989, and a whole lot of TV shows with them. In point of fact, when the animated institution turned 20 in 2009, a fellow Fox series called "Bones" was only just entering its fifth season, with no idea it was less than halfway done.
To celebrate the occasion, Fox announced it would be paying "homarge" to "The Simpsons" with an on-air scavenger hunt from November 9 -13, 2009. Never one to pass up an opportunity to goose its ratings, the network encouraged its viewers to tune into other Fox series that week and hunt for Easter eggs nodding to Homer,...

The future of "Star Wars" recently came into focus as Disney and Lucasfilm announced the movie that will welcome a galaxy far, far away back to the big screen. Oddly enough, it's going to be centered on the characters that have helped anchor "Star Wars" on the small screen since 2019. "The Mandalorian & Grogu" will be directed by Jon Favreau, with the film set to go into production in 2024. Indeed, it will be Mando and the one they call Baby Yoda who will help bring the franchise back to theaters after years away. One big question now looms very large: Will a TV show turned into a movie translate to meaningful box office dollars?
There are far too many unknowns right now to accurately predict this movie's commercial performance, but there are some key things we do know. For one, "The Mandalorian" has been extremely popular, with Pedra Pascal's Din Djarin...

In just a few weeks, the 18th recipient of the Golden Globe Award for Best Animated Feature will be revealed. While it is highly likely that the new winner will share a 3D visual style in common with nearly all of its predecessors, voters may instead decide to finally honor a fully hand-drawn movie for the first time. Fittingly, this monumental distinction would be credited to the legendary Studio Ghibli and its esteemed cofounder, Hayao Miyazaki, who suspended his brief retirement in order to make his dozenth film, “The Boy and the Heron.”
With an original plot that pointedly references the classic Japanese novel “How Do You Live?,” “The Boy and the Heron” is the 25th entry in Studio Ghibli’s animated canon and the company’s 10th film released after the creation of this Golden Globe category. Although four of its post-2005 productions earned Oscar notices for Best Animated Feature,...

The announcement of a new James L Brooks film has insiders suggesting it’s the ‘herald’ of a potential sequel to The Simpsons movie…
The long-running TV version of The Simpsons may not possess the cultural relevance it once did, but the feature-length film that released back in 2007 did gangbusters business for what was then 20th Century Fox, grossing over half a billion dollars – and that’s just theatrically.
In the years since, the possibility of another film has sometimes been floated, but we’ve never seen anything come to fruition – until now perhaps.

The catalyst for the current rumours lie with series producer, James L Brooks. 20th Century Studios (formerly 20th Century Fox) has green-lit a new venture by the producer, a dramedy project titled Ella McKay, starring Sex Education actor Emma Mackey.

The constant cancelations and resurrections of "Futurama" have taught its makers to be nimble. The initial run of "Futurama" lasted four seasons from March 1999 until August 2003. At the time, it seemed like that was the end of things, but it would prove to be a mere five-year hiatus.
"Futurama" returned in 2008 in the form of four straight-to-dvd feature-length movies. The first one, "Bender's Big Score" was about a mysterious time-travel code tattooed on Fry's butt. The second, "The Beast with a Billion Backs," was about a lovelorn Lovecraftian space deity that romances everyone on Earth. "Bender's Game" saw the Planet Express crew transported into a Gygaxian fantasy universe (likely serving as the inspiration for Matt Groening's "Disenchantment"). "Into the Wild Green Yonder" concerns psychic waves pulsing through the universe, tinfoil hats, and a feminist uprising. The movies were eventually broadcast on TV, each one split up into four episodes.

This article contains spoilers for the Disenchantment series finale.
A new animated series from Matt Groening, the creator of The Simpsons and Futurama, should have been a clear winner and modern cartoon classic. Oddly enough, Bean’s misadventures through Dreamland and its constant fantasy genre subversions in Disenchantment have barely left a mark on the medium. It initially seemed like Disenchantment had somehow learned the worst lessons from The Simpsons and Futurama through a focus on dense lore and heavy serialized stories. Disenchantment, while fun, would struggle with its growing scope and undergo a perpetual identity crisis on the type of series it wanted to be and what it does best.
It’s been a bumpy journey, but Disenchantment impressively pulls everything together for its final season. This last batch of episodes finally figures out how to use this big world and its many supporting characters after seasons of awkward attempts to connect these dots.

Just two years ago, it seemed like the summer blockbuster might be a thing of the past. After Covid kept cinemas closed across the United States for the majority of 2020, the box office reopened in 2021 on uncertain footing, with many high profile flops and a soft performance for the movies overall. That summer seemed like the harbinger of the end for the seasonal release strategy that “Jaws” perfected all the way back in 1975, wherein the hottest months hosts the biggest titles — marketed aggressively to theatergoers. It seemed like those days were behind us, and the streaming age had finally overtaken the days when movies could be events. So thank goodness for “Barbie” and “Oppenheimer.”

“Did you know there’s a direct correlation between the decline of Spirograph and the rise in gang activity? Think about it,” Bart was warned during The Simpsons’ “Golden Era.” He says he will, but we know he won’t give it even a passing thought. The same could be said about the series in the 2010s. As viewership went down over the decade, the country splintered into opposing factions, without much thought. The citizens turned away from trusted media output, and after beating Gunsmoke as the longest-running, scripted primetime show in history, The Simpsons was an institution.
The decade opened with a big 20th anniversary premiere, “Once Upon a Time in Springfield,” promoted as the 450th episode of the series. It ran alongside a special, aired after a year’s buildup from Fox, called The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special – In 3-D! On Ice!, directed by Morgan Spurlock (Super Size...

After the surprising rise and appallingly steady excellence of The Simpsons’ first decade, many long-time supporters felt the show would have gone out on top if it ended around 2001-2002. The late 1990s era was hit with a traumatic loss with the death of comic genius Phil Hartman. After a pay dispute, voice actress Maggie Roswell left from 1999 to 2002, resulting in the death of the Maude Flanders in the episode “Alone Again, Natura-Diddily.” But the first cracks in the series’ “Golden Age” appeared when Principal Skinner was redacted and retrofitted for “The Principal and the Pauper,” from season 9. It was seen as a major copout.

The Simpsons Season 34 Episode 17
The Simpsons “Pin Gal” is a retro delight, even beyond the Facebook reference. The story has one focus, and every line is a laugh line, setting up a joke or landing the punch, and always picking up the spare. It also benefits from an almost full showing of the family. The Simpsons work better as a team, truly shining when something in Springfield is in danger, and the whole town can rally behind them. It doesn’t even matter if the town is cheering them on or chasing them down, a unified Springfield and a tight family unit is the best recipe for a classic episode.
Of course, the tastiest spice added is Albert Brooks reprising his ever-provocative bowling instructor Jacques, from season 1’s “Life on the Fast Lane.” Perennially billed as “A. Brooks,” he is like the secret sauce...

The Simpsons is set to bring back a notorious early character – 33 years after his last appearance.
Season one of the long-running cartoon introduced a character called Jacques, in the 1990 episode “Life On the Fast Lane”.
Voiced by the comedian and filmmaker Albert Brooks, Jacques was a French bowling instructor who captures the attention of Marge Simpson.
Ultimately, however, Marge decides against accepting Jacques’ romantic advances, and remains with Homer.
On Sunday (19 March), the character is set to return in a season 34 episode titled “Pin Girl”.
The official synopsis for the episode reads: “A mysterious figure from Marge’s past returns to coach her for a bowling tournament.”
Showrunner Al Jean confirmed on social media that the “mysterious figure” will, in fact, be Jacques, voiced again by Brooks.
While this will represent the first time Brooks has returned to the role, the Modern Romance filmmaker has voiced a number of other...

What’s the biggest TV event happening on March 12? Some might say the Oscars ceremony, while others might point to the season finale of “The Last of Us”. But Fox is giving both a run for their money with their newest episode of “Family Guy,” which will see the raunchy animated program stage a three-way crossover with its Fox channel brethren “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers”
“Family Guy” previously crossed over with “The Simpsons” in 2014 during the show’s Season 13 premiere “The Simpsons Guy,” but this is the first time that the two series’ younger Fox sibling “Bob’s Burgers” is getting added to the mix. However, unlike “The Simpsons Guy” — an extra-long 44-minute extravaganza for the two rival shows — the upcoming episode (titled “Adoption”) doesn’t appear to focus on the interplay between the three shows, instead featuring characters from “The Simpsons” and “Bob’s Burgers” in a scene released by...

Now that we know a "Community" movie is on its way, fans are speculating on the next obvious question: what will it be about? By the end of season 6, Annie (Alison Brie) left Greendale to intern at the FBI, Abed (Danny Pudi) left for a job in the TV industry, Shirley (Yvette Nicole Brown) left for a spin-off in Atlanta, and Troy (Donald Glover) was still on his boat trip around the world. For all (or even most) of these characters to return for the movie, there'd have to be a pretty good reason for them to come back to Greendale. Maybe there's some sort of special event that brings each of them back in town? Perhaps something ... paintball related?
Unfortunately, no. Showrunner Dan Harmon has definitively shut that idea down in a recent Variety interview. "It's a lot easier for me to rule stuff out than tell you what we're pursuing,...

It's hard to imagine the current landscape of television without "Bob's Burgers." Just like the animated classics "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," and "King of the Hill" before them, the show created by Loren Bouchard has become a staple of the Fox network's weekly lineup since 2011. The Emmy-winning series starring H. Jon Benjamin, John Roberts, Dan Mintz, Eugene Mirman, and Kristen Schaal as the offbeat yet lovable Belcher family has also extended its reach even further through reruns via syndication and streaming on Hulu.
However, the Belchers' future wasn't always as stable as their current reputation would lead you to believe. Long before Bouchard's team created over 200 episodes filled with creative burgers and catchy songs, the people working on the show about this eccentric family living in a coastal town were worried that it wouldn't stay on the airwaves very long after the first season. Even after the original premise involving cannibalism was scrapped,...

If you include the short animated skits that aired on The Tracey Ullman Show, Yeardley Smith has been voicing the character of Lisa Simpson for 36 years — that’s well more than half her life! Once she got the role of Lisa (after originally auditioning for the voice of Bart), she needed to figure out what the character would sound like. Smith told us that, rather than looking at drawings of the character, she took her inspiration from the scripts and figured out Lisa’s personality from there. (Click on the media bar below to hear Yeardley Smith) https://www.hollywoodoutbreak.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/01/Yeradley_Smith_Lisa_simpson_Input_.mp3 The Simpsons, The Simpsons Movie, and several Simpsons shorts are currently streaming on Disney+.
