This video game includes 4 voice actors from the original film. Ken Page, Paul Reubens, and Glenn Shadix previously voiced Oogie Boogie, Lock, and the town Mayor respectively. Chris Sarandon, the speaking voice of Jack Skellington, returns as the sole voice as Jack.
Danny Elfman, the original singing voice of Jack Skellington, does not appear in this game. However the music is adapted from his work, making the music still his technically.
In addition to the main cast, there are other actors from the original film who appear in this game. Debi Durst, Kerry Katz, Randy Crenshaw & Sherwood Ball return to voice background characters.
The very first video game to be rated E10+ (Everyone 10+) by the ESRB it is also one of the only two games of 2004 to do so alongside Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (2004) after the complaints about violence and gore in games such as Pikmin 2 (2004) and the video game adaptation of Shark Tale (2004) both of which received E (Everyone) ratings.
The introduction of the ESRB's E10+ rating is very similar to the introduction of the MPAA's PG-13 rating.
