Even if dressing up isn’t in your wheelhouse, there’s no reason you can’t celebrate Halloween from the comfort of your couch. Thanks to Halloween marathons, your favorite networks are airing classic and contemporary films and television shows that’ll get anyone in the holiday spirit. Plus, platforms like Netflix are working hard by releasing enough Stephen King adaptations and serial killer dramas to keep you entertained for the next two weeks.

From AMC’s week-long FearFest to Freeform’s classic 13 Nights Of Halloween, there’s something on TV for those who get spooked easily and for those with witches’ blood in their veins.

Albuquerque – This sleepy town is getting rocked awake by a mad bomber in Deadly Impact. Thomas Armstrong (Boondock Saints’s Sean Patrick Flanery) is a cop that is forced to shoot his wife in order to save 10 people that are being held hostage by The Lion (The Matrix’s Joe Pantoliano). The ugliness of the moment cause Armstrong to quit the force and devote himself to booze. Eight years later The Lion reappears. The FBI wants Armstrong’s help in identifying him, but can he tangle with the diabolical madman who has promised to blow up the city?

Deadly Impact is an action rush with Pantoliano using the power of Bluetooth for evil. Here’s the trailer for the film:

The movie is out on DVD this week. I had a chance to swap email with Director Robert Kurtzman and Producer David S. Greathouse. The duo had previously made Buried Alive.

Shipping off to Berlin this month looking for potential buyers is Exquisite Corpse from writer-director Scott David Russell and we've got the trailer for your peepers below. Buried Alive 's Steve Sandvoss plays a young neuroscientist who's lady friend bites the big one. Like Re-Animator 's Dan Cain before him, he uses a serum he created to bring her back to life. Unfortunately, the results are only temporary and he finds that he has to kill others to keep her alive. Zoinks. What's with all of these films about living dead girlfriends? Nicole Vicius plays opposite Sandvoss. As this film is fresh off of post-production, it's still too early to tell who's snagging it for distribution, but we'll keep you post.

Another train is on the express to the international film markets and this time showing is the psychological, serial killer, thriller Circle. Character James Bennett (Silas Weir Mitchell) is forefront in this one and, while having a penchant for the Greek language, he also has a knack for putting holes into people. The FBI are in hot pursuit, but can they catch this steaming locomotive, that will soon collide with "six graduate students" (New Films)? This question cannot be answered yet, as New Films International has just picked up this recently completed horror endeavour. More details to come (trailer below).

Wonderin’ where the Chicago Fango schedule is? Well, we’re still tweaking it because we have a few surprise guests! We are happy to report that Jeffrey Combs, the Re-animator himself, will be attending Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, to be held this coming March 6-8 at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare Hotel (6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Il).

In addition, Ashley Laurence is back in the lineup! The actress from Hellraiser, Hellbound: Hellraiser II and Hellraiser: Hellseeker, plus Lightning Bug, Red, Warlock III and Lurking Fear, will be attending on Saturday, while Combs (also best known for From Beyond, Deep Space Nine, Pit And The Pendulum, The Frighteners, The 4400 and many more) hits the stage on Sunday. WildClaw Theatre, Chicago’s leading horror stage troupe, will bring their brand of terror and the supernatural to the fast-approaching Chicago edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, to be held March 6-8 at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare Hotel (6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Il). On Sunday of the event, the local horror theater stalwarts will discuss their previous shows, screen clips of their most outlandish work, answer questions, talk about their upcoming Zombie Bowling and zombie play, The Revenants, then close out the convention with a round of “Scary-aoke,” where the audience will have the opportunity to act out scenes from their favorite horror flicks.

The independent horror film Plague Town, which Fango’s Michael Gingold called “a nightmare captured on film,” will make its Midwest premiere at the fast-approaching Chicago edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors, to be held March 6-8 at the Wyndham Chicago O’Hare Hotel (6810 North Mannheim Road, Rosemont, Il). The screening will be introduced by writer/director David Gregory.

Plague Town is about a group of American travelers lost in the Irish countryside who run afoul of a group of bloodthirsty, disfigured children. Gregory (pictured with actress Kate Aspinwall and victim) makes his feature debut with the movie, having previously helmed nearly 100 genre documentaries and DVD features, including Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Shocking Truth, Portrait: The Making of Henry, Inside Manhunter, Tom Savini: The Early Years, The Godfathers of Mondo and many more.

Dugan also appeared in Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation, while Johnson turned up in Future-kill and TV’s Hercules: The Legendary Journeys.

A reunion devoted to the 1972 killer snake movie Stanley will take place at the next West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Attending the panel will be exploitation great William Grefé, who also helmed Mako: The Jaws Of Death and Impulse, and screenwriter/actor Gary (Giant From The Unknown) Crutcher.

A cult favorite inspired by Willard, Stanley concerns a frustrated Vietnam vet (Chris Robinson) who gets even by siccing reptilian friends on his enemies. The convention will also premiere the 65-minute cut of filmmaker Daniel Griffith’s Dark Side Of Eden: The Making Of Stanley (expanded from the version seen on the recent Stanley DVD), a documentary featuring new interviews with Grefé, Crutcher, Robinson and co-star Steve Alaimo. A favorite of cult director John Waters, Christmas Evil, which will also be screened at the con, concerns a frustrated toymaker (Maggart) who dresses up in a Claus costume to mete out bloody justice to those who’ve been naughty. Attending the Walking Distance preview will be writer/director Mel House of Closet Space and cast members Adrienne King (original Friday The 13th star, pictured), Phantasm’s Reggie Bannister, Fango Spooksmodel Shannon Lark and Denton Blane Everett.

The Texas-lensed Walking Distance takes place in a small community that offers complete self-sufficiency, but has some extremely unpleasant secrets bubbling under its surface. A star-studded panel devoted to the new Anchor Bay screamer Laid To Rest will take place at the next West Coast edition of Fangoria’s Weekend of Horrors convention, to be held April 17-19 at the Los Angeles Convention Center (1201 South Figueroa). Attending the Laid To Rest preview will be writer/director Robert (Lighning Bug) Hall and cast members Bobbi Sue (Night Of The Demons remake) Luther, Sean (People Under The Stairs) Whalen, Johnathon (Quarantine) Schaech, Nick (“Chrome Skull”) Principe, Jana (Prom Night) Kramer and Anthony Fitzgerald, as well as producers Kevin (Lightning Bug) Bocarde and Chang Tseng.
