Jim Powers has the good sense to frame his many gonzo videos within a narrative story structure, a procedure that makes "Sodom" engrossing to watch, unlike the tens of thousands of recent gonzo junkers that devolve into wall-to-wall sex filler.
Cindy Crawford has certainly one of her best career roles as a young girl hitchhiking to Vegas, who is gang-banged and left helpless in the desert by a car of three typical lowlifes.
Her dreamlike (or nightmare if you prefer) subsequent adventures are wonderfully paced, with never a dull moment before the two-hour movie reaches its conclusion. Physical demands of the role are quite impressive, as Powers makes life miserable for his leading lady.
Strong complement of ladies, led by Sin City contract star Hannah Harper and some new talent, help keep the XXX pot boiling, and a series of follow-up movies by the label are on my list for future viewing.
