The 26 episodes produced by Cinema Arts Productions Inc. helped launch the Black Entertainment Network. Robert L. Johnson began airing the 30 minute episodes as part of his three hour Friday night lineup in late 1981. By early 1982 all of the episodes had aired. Hosted by black composer Phil Moore, the series was repeated in 1982 and 1984. In 1984, the year BET began broadcasting 24 hours per day, the episodes were listed in TV Guide. At the same time the series was picked up and distributed by the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service (AFRTS).
