Xuxa and her production company were sued for the characters featured in this film. After debuting in an episode of Xuxa Park (1994), Xuxinha became a breakthrough character and the face of most of her licensed products. Publicist and cartoonist Leonardo Soltz had his characters reportedly turned down by Xuxa, before her company conceived a similar line-up starring Xuxinha.
Marisa Leal does not voice Xuxinha for the first time in this film. The character is portrayed by Flávia Saddy. Both actresses are famous (and very recognizable) dubbers in Brazil.
The character of Xuxinha debuted in an animated episode of Xuxa Park (1994) which, similar to this film, featured Xuxa herself interacting with the animated characters.
