"Fear of Girls" is a touching and whimsical short comedy shot in style of a documentary about two socially inept grown men. Doug and Raymond are unwilling to leave the magical world of LARP (Live-Action-Role-Playing) through which they used to escape the torment of adolescence.
The two full-time gamers are scorned by women and alienated by other Role-Playing enthusiasts (a.k.a. children). The contrast of their peculiar behavior and isolation is displayed through the equally weird behavior of "Doug-Doug"'s hyper-Christian family who believe he is going to hell. Surrounded by empty soda bottles and medieval paraphenalia, sexual tension froths between the men, afraid to question the "platonic" nature of their relationship.
This is a hilarious and uplifting short about friendship and loyalty, epitomizes awkwardness and the quixotic misadventures of two men isolated from reality. I sincerely hope this film receives the credit it deserves.
