Created to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original Chiquititas (1995), also marking Cris Morena's return to Telefe after leaving the network when that series was canceled.
The main title theme is actually the Jugate conmigo (1991) title theme rewritten for this series. "Jugate" was a teenage game show host by series creator Cris Morena. It was the TV debut of her daughter Romina Yan, who would later star the original Chiquititas (1995).
Broadcast in Brazil by SBT, who had produced Chiquititas Brasil (1997). The character of Pulga was voiced by voice actor Thiago Farias, who portrayed Gigio in the Brazilian series.
Jorgelina Aruzzi consulted with Romina Yan in preparation for her starring role on this series. They had previously co-starred Amor mío (2005). Furthermore, Aruzzi had never watched the original series when she took over the role.
Gastón Ricaud returns as the male lead from the final season of the original Chiquititas (1995), where he played Ramiro. Other actors return in cameo appearances.
