Chloé: [first lines - driving along flipping through albums] You never play this one.
Edgar: Too commercial.
Chloé: Hey, and this one?
Edgar: Too progressive.
Chloé: What about this one, too funky?
Edgar: I don't mind funk.
Chloé: What State is this?
Edgar: Missouri? I think.
Chloé: [de-creams an Oreo and drops it back into the bag]
Edgar: Did you just throw that cookie back in the bag?
Chloé: Yeah. So what?
Edgar: You can't just eat the cream and throw the cookie part back in the bag.
Chloé: Why not?
Edgar: Because that's not... proper. If you want the cream, eat the whole cookie.
Chloé: [smirks] I'm sorry, I didn't realize there was cookie etiquette.
[makes a double-cream cookie from two]
Edgar: What are you doing?
Chloé: It's a little cake - eat it.
Edgar: No!
Chloé: Come on! You now you want it, eat it. Come on, just live a little.
Edgar: No way.
Chloé: Fine.
[scarfs it]
Edgar: Oh, that's fantastic.
[car starts making noises]
Sounds like it could be fun, right?
Well firstly the title music is horrible. It makes you want to run just to get a way from it. I had to FF thru the titles.
Next, the acting is horrendous. And the film making is so shoddy that in one of the initial scenes (in the car) the girl has flies on her and no one re-shot the scene!!!
OMG!
Of course the car breaks down. Oy Vey. The one positive thing I can say is that the color is really nice. It pops. Other than that, the movie is horrible.
It seems that it was marketed as a "film noir" but whoever came up with that bright idea doesn't know the first thing about film noir. DOA is film noir, Detour is film noir. This is garbage. The truth is, the writer stole a scene right out of Detour! Amazing.
