Vanessa Lengies turned down the role in The Grudge 2 (2006) to do this film. Teresa Palmer replaced her.

The filmmakers were also invited by Pixar to screen the movie at their Emeryville, CA campus on Sept. 10, 2009.

"My Suicide" was picked as one of three 2009 films screened at the Netflix Corporate Retreat, alongside that year's Sundance Grand Jury Award winner and presentations by Michael Eisner and Jeffrey Katzenberg.
"My Suicide" was named a "Maverick Film" by the Calgary International Film Festival.
