I found this short film on the Hulu website. They have a ton of content (much of it routed through IMDb) and many of their films are paid for by commercials. I really don't mind--after all, how will they pay for this without come revenue? However, when it comes to MOSCA, the people at Hulu seem to be sabotaging the film. That's because unlike MOST of the shorts, this one not only has a commercial at the beginning, but there is another right at the very end--just 20 seconds or so before the film is complete. While this is annoying, it's even worse when you consider that MOSCA is a one-minute film--with more time spent on commercials than the actual short! What a great way to discourage viewers! As for the film, it's actually pretty clever and does about as much in one minute as you can expect. It's all about the relative life span between humans and flies and puts into perspective why it is so gosh-darn tough to swat the little buggers! Well made, but possibly not worth your time if it continues to be saddled with two commercials about saving the environment--which, by the way, made me want to guy cut down a tree or shoot an endangered species because I felt so frustrated!
