Full of flaws but very enjoyable

I have to agree with another reviewer that Anjanett Comer's performance in this episode was the worst case of trying to act like an uncivilized Indian girl was terrible. One second she was talking like a person who could barely speak English and then one second later talking perfectly even sophisticated, then back to talking like an Indian. It was very jarring that she was so miscast. Even Leonard Nimoy's imitation of an Indian in other roles was a hundred times better. Then shortly she is transformed into a sophisticated bore talking about politics to anyone that would listen. WHAT THE HECK was that all about ? Where did she get all this knowledge ?? And then she falls in love with Ben and calls him Benjamin. In one short hour episode a wild Indian girl is transformed into a normal, even sophisticated woman that would normally take years But in spite of that I did find the episode enjoyable - almost like a puppy that was so ugly he was cute. Maybe the strangest episode of Bonanza ever.

The worst Bonanza episode in the whole series.

This episode suffers from really poor storyline, poor acting by Anjanette Comer. The story drags on making a hour show seem like 3 hours, Ms. Comer's Indian accent is the worst ever, and it comes and goes throughout the episode. Totally a cringefest. If you never see this episode your luckier then those that viewed it. And I am a big fan of the Bonanza series too.

    Cringeworthy!

Ok, you usually have to kind of turn off the "appropriateness filter" when watching most Bonanza episodes. And, you have to put up with some generalizations. Finally, spotty acting is common.

Problem is, this episode has all the bad components listed above.

I'm watching the series again, and am mostly pleasantly surprised about the quality of the episodes.
