Apparently Kitty keeps the outside door to her storeroom unlocked. At night, wounded Crowley comes into the Long Branch that way and asks Kitty for help. Then the next morning, Matt and Festus come in that way, following the trail of blood.

Kitty's Dilemma

The plot is a little confusing but like in so many Gunsmoke episodes the plot isn't that important. Kitty is torn between loyalty to a man who saved her life and the law. Plenty of great scenes here not only with Matt and Kitty but also with Kitty and the stranger. Kitty seems really attracted to this guy which adds to the difficulty of her decision. Even poor Thad has some agonizing moments in this one. Once again this episode is driven not by story lines but by great acting by the principle characters.
