Waiting for Goddard

Obviously a signpost episode that the series was maybe about to end for good so from almost the first scene Arthur and Terry are uncharacteristically at each other's throats. Arthur was usually the positive and cheerful one actually comes across as petulant , vindictive and spiteful in this episode , traits that were rarely evident previously. Terry and his usual jocular sarcastic manner towards Arthur is still evident but lacks any comedic edge due to the moodiness of the out of character Arthur. The story involves a soon to be rich old man and Arthur trying to claim a fee for telling the solicitor where he can be found generally something his sidekick would have no issues with however he does here. Not the best episode of the bunch by a very long way and Terry looked very middle aged by this point and the storylines were not the best either and it is little wonder they rested it for a few years after this A long way from the brilliance of the series 1-4 and it's decline is very evident here.
