In Star Trek canon, Vulcans are remarkably tight-lipped about pon-farr, to the point where it's almost taboo to discuss it with non-Vulcans. Even discussing it with other Vulcans can be cause for discomfort, so Vulcans choose to respect the privacy of those who are undergoing pon-farr.
