The camping scenes were shot at the Upper Franklin Reservoir in Franklin Canyon Park, Los Angeles, the same place where the opening credits of The Andy Griffith Show were shot.

Goofs
As Jan shines the flashlight on the paper cutout of the bear Marcia is holding, Marcia's hand and arm are not seen in the resulting shadow.

The Camping Trip

Mike, Alice and the boys go on their annual camping trip, but now with Carol and the girls for the first time.

One of many boys vs girls episodes, but this is one of the funnier ones. In an early scene, Alice is dressed like Smokey The Bear and gathering all the kids together, Cindy has to go to bathroom and all the kids (plus Alice) decide they have to go too for one of the funniest moments. There is a scenic locale for the camping scenes (same one used in the Andy Griffith Show). Other funny scenes as no one catches fish and the girls being scared by noises in the night.
