Former Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Jake E. Lee is currently recovering and said he is “doing surprisingly well” after being shot three times on early Tuesday (October 15th) near his home in Las Vegas.

The day after the shooting, Wednesday (October 16th), fellow guitarist and Las Vegas resident DJ Ashba (formerly of Guns N’ Roses) posted a text message exchange he had with Lee on his Instagram stories [via Blabbermouth].
In the exchange, Ashba asked if Jake was Ok, to which he replied: “Doing surprisingly well. I am one lucky mother f**ker. Just make sure your bday bash is wheelchair accessible!

Volbeat frontman Michael Poulsen has formed a new death metal band called Asinhell. The trio has announced its first album, titled Impii Hora, along with unveiling its first single, “Fall of the Loyal Warrior.”
While fans are most familiar with the metallic rockabilly vibe of Volbeat, Poulsen was actually dabbling in death metal long before he formed his successful rock band. Prior to Volbeat’s launch, the Danish musician fronted the death metal band Dominus, who released a string of albums and EPs during their decade-long run from 1991 to 2001.
Now, Poulsen has returned to his extreme roots with Asinhell. Instead of fronting the band himself, he recruited singer Marc Grewe to handle lead vocals. Drummer Morten Toft Hansen (from the Danish band Raunchy) rounds out the lineup.
“We’re very excited to share the first taste of Asinhell with ‘Fall of the Loyal Warrior,'” said Poulsen in a press release.

Originally, Archie Andrews and his pals at Riverdale High reflected the codification of teenage life, as they had more leisure time and disposable income. Once it hit big, the comic series and its infinite number of spinoffs, became stuck in amber, barely trying to keep up with changing trends (other than fashion) or concerns for teens. By the 2000s, the entire company was on the ropes, increasingly irrelevant in a rapidly changing world.
In comics, they threw a Hail Mary, revamping the writing and art, making the characters look and act in contemporary ways. Thanks to Mark Waid, Adam Hughes, Chip Zdarsky, and a few others, the characters were suddenly cool once more. The company’s product mix suddenly had the classic digest reprints, the new look, some Zombie title and they were saved.

Although it isn’t an exact mirror of what’s to be found in the pages of Archie Comics’ various periodicals, Arrowverse mastermind Greg Berlanti and the rest of the folks over at The CW once again found the winning formula for comic book adaptations on the small screen with the critically acclaimed Riverdale.
Aside from boasting live action versions of Archie Andrews (Kj Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) and Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) that each looked like they leapt from a comic book, Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse) was slightly reimagined yet felt as though he became the voice of young intellectual misfits, allowing the product to have an authentic feel.
But even with a stellar cast, the writing has to be there in order to make an unfolding series work. In addition to the high school drama aspects that remain a tried and true formula for prime time television,...

Kevin James tries to build on the success of Paul Blart: Mall Cop with Zookeeper. Ron checks the movie out...
Griffin (Kevin James) is a dedicated, loyal, friendly zookeeper. Unfortunately for Griffin, zookeeping isn't exactly selling exotic cars or counterfeiting, so it's not a terribly lucrative employment. Still, there's something to be said for loving your work, and Griffin loves his work and all the animals. Unfortunately, Griffin also loves Stephanie (Leslie Bibb), who is way out of his league due to being a model (or something like that).
Well, Griffin feels like his best option is to leave the zoo to Kate (Rosario Dawson) and the other zookeepers and partner up with his brother and sell the aforementioned exotic cars. However, the animals aren't about to allow that, and the best solution they have is to break their code of silence, actually speak to a human, and teach Griffin how to be a macho,...

If there’s one thing that’s guaranteed with Ozzy Osbourne it’s that he will be accompanied by an incredible guitarist. In his 30-year solo career very few have been chosen for this role. Now, lighting up the fret board is Greek guitar genius, Gus G.
The guitarist agreed to down-axe and talk with me about joining up with one of his idols, the possibility of a new Ozzy album, and setting up his own band, Firewind.
Geeks of Doom: So how are you?
Gus G.: Yeah, I’m fine. I just woke up actually! But it’s cool.
Geeks of Doom: Next month you head out across Europe with Ozzy and with Firewind for the summer. What are you up to right now?
Gus G.: Well I’m at home in Greece and I’ve been doing a bunch of stuff, catching up on stuff because...

Rock drummers are a notorious breed. They are constantly the butt of many jokes, which many have come to deserve. But there are a few who sidestep the stereotype, playing on some of the greatest songs and albums in rock history, who deserve their well-earned level of respect. Fewer still deserve as much respect as Randy Castillo.
Born Randolpho Francisco Castillo on December 18, 1950 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, Castillo first came to prominence when he performed on the Lita Ford album Dancin’ On The Edge.
Castillo was best known as the drummer for Ozzy Osbourne’s band from the mid-1980s to the early-1990s. He played on The Ultimate Sin in 1986, which was the final album to feature guitarist Jake E. Lee. He also played on the first two Ozzy albums which included Lee’s successor, the young Zakk Wylde: No Rest For The Wicked and No More Tears,...
