The concept of the mysterious musical performer (Valez) showing up on billboards everywhere is actually based on a real performer of a different name. As in the movie billboards advertising an unknown's musical performer's concert began appearing everywhere in the Northeast United States.
Was shot back to back with Once Upon a Midnight Dreary (2003) and features many of the same actors as well as directed by Mike M. Burke.
This marks the seventh film but first all comedy movie from Mike M. Burke. Ironically Mike started out as a stand-up comedian at the age of 13.
A handful of the performers featured were asked to be in the film and their scenes were shot right then and there. This includes Hannah from HannaH*s Field and stand-up comic Billy Winn formerly of WPLR in Connecticut.
Mike wore an air filled fat suit in order to play Fernando Valez. This made difficult for him to play instruments however Valez is suppose to be a terrible musician.
