Pokiri was one of the highest grossers in the Indian film industry for 2006.
Interestingly,Pokiri opened to mixed reviews from the audience upon first three days of it's release and then it went on to become the highest grossing telugu film at that time surpassing Chiranjeevi's Indra.
Mahesh Babu's other movie Sainikudu was stalled to complete the shooting of this film even though he signed the former first.
