The upcoming third season of Showtime’s hit horror-drama series “Yellowjackets” is headed our way early next year, with “Yellowjackets” Season 3 set to debut with two episodes on Friday, February 14, 2025 on streaming and on demand for Paramount+ subscribers with the Paramount+ with Showtime plan before its on-air debut on Sunday, February 16.

“Yellowjackets” is officially returning in February. This will mark a nearly two year gap from when Season 2 premiered.

Hilariously given its dark subject matter, the first two episodes of the Showtime original will debut Feb. 14 on both streaming and on demand for those subscribed to the Paramount+ with Showtime plan. Season 3’s linear premiere will then take place on Feb. 16. Metrograph has acquired North American rights from The Match Factory to Christian Petzold’s Miroirs No. 3 starring Paula Beer, which starts production on Monday (August 26) in Germany.

Petzold and Beer reunite after Transit, Undine and Afire. Miroirs No. 3 follows a young music student who must rebuild her life when her boyfriend dies in a car crash.

The shoot will take place in Brandenburg and Berlin, Germany, and the film will open in 2025. Also starring are Barbara Auer (The Book Thief), Matthias Brandt (Transit), and Enno Trebs (Afire).

Quiver and WestEnd have announced international deals on the upcoming TIFF world premiere and Second World War true story Irena’s Vow starring Sophie Nélisse and Dougray Scott.

Deals have closed with Dea Planeta for Spain, Outsider for Portugal, United King for Israel, and Cinesky for airlines. Quiver will distribute in the US.

Sean Bean and Miranda Richardson are set to star alongside John Malkovich in the biopic of Romanian conductor Sergiu Celibidache, Variety can reveal.

Also joining the cast is Ben Schnetzer (“The Book Thief”), who has replaced Rupert Friend after scheduling difficulties meant Friend had to drop out of the project. Schnetzer will play a young version of Celebidachi while Malkovich will play the conductor later in life.

They will be joined by Kate Phillips (“Downton Abbey”), Anton Lesser (“Game of Thrones”) and Charlie Rowe (“Rocketman”).

“The Yellow Tie” tells the story of controversial classical conductor Sergiu Celibidache, one of Romania’s best known classical music artists. He battled homelessness and prejudice before becoming the youngest ever conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.

The tightly-woven mysteries at the center of Yellowjackets are about to be exposed.

Showtime dropped the official trailer for Yellowjackets Season 2 on Thursday, and it looks like a stellar follow-up to the first season.

The trailer is chilling and offers excellent insight into what to expect in the coming episodes.

It also features Florence + The Machine's cover of "Just a Girl," which was inspired by the show.

"Once upon a time, there was a place called the wilderness," we hear in the trailer.

"It was beautiful. But it was also violent and misunderstood and it waited and waited to befriend whoever arrived."

"The whole time, there was some darkness out there," adult Natalie (Juliette Lewis) says.

"I thought we left it there when we were rescued, but now I realize, we brought it back with us," adult Lottie (Simone Kessell) says in the clip.

As Yellowjackets Season 2 inches closer to its premiere on Showtime, one of its stars dropped some good news over the weekend.

In an Instagram post on Saturday, Christina Ricci revealed that Yellowjackets Season 2 production wrapped that morning.

The star shared a photo of herself and costars Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress, Juliette Lewis, Simone Kessell, and Lauren Ambrose.

"I loved every minute with these amazing women," reads the caption.

Ricci also commented on the purple, plaid trench coat she wore in the wrap photo.

Amblin Television, Imagine Documentaries and Nedland Media are in the very early stages of production on the documentary that is being directed by Laurent Bouzereau. Bouzereau is a documentarian whose credits include Five Came Back, Natalie Wood: What Remains Behind and Mama’s Boy: A Story From Our Americas. He is also a longtime director of “making of” and behind-the-scenes featurettes, producing several hundred of them since the 1990s, including dozens for Spielberg movies.

New photos released this week show Lauren Ambrose in the role of present-day Van.

Van will have a more prominent role on the sophomore season of the red-hot drama series.

Liv Hewson, who plays the teenage version of Van, has been upped to series regular.

Literary manager Jerry Kalajian, a partner at Intellectual Property Group, has died aged 68.

Kalajian was responsible for a number of film and TV adaptations of books including Life of Pi, Big Little Lies, The Dry and The Book Thief. He died of cancer at Scripps Mercy Hospital.

Kalajian was an agent, manager, and producer and represented a number of preeminent producers, directors, literary talent, and screenwriters.

Born in the Detroit area, Kalajian moved to Los Angeles in 1974, working as a waiter before earning his first position at the Diamond Talent Agency with Abby Greshler. He then went on to become a talent agent at Herb Tobias & Associates and APA/Agency for the Performing Arts. After APA, Jerry formed a partnership and new literary agency, Becsey, Wisdom, Kalajian. The “Dune” prequel series at HBO Max from Legendary Television has cast Emily Watson and Shirley Henderson in lead roles, Variety has learned.

Officially titled “Dune: The Sisterhood,” the series was ordered at HBO Max in June 2019. The show is set 10,000 years before the events of “Dune” and is based on the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Per the official logline, the show “follows the Harkonnen Sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind, and establish the fabled sect known as the Bene Gesserit”

Watson will play Valya Harkonnen and Henderson will play Tula Harkonnen. The character descriptions say the two sisters “have risen to power in the Sisterhood, a secret organization of women who will go on to become the Bene Gesserit.”

Watson is a two-time best actress Oscar nominee — one for her work in “Breaking the Waves” and another for “Hilary and Jackie.

HBO and HBO Max will be home to new original films, highly anticipated streaming debuts of new releases, and the finales of three popular series throughout February. Below, we’ve assembled a complete list of everything new on HBO and HBO Max in February 2022, and it includes a new thriller from director Steven Soderbergh and starring Zoe Kravitz called “Kimi.” The original feature takes place in a Covid-19 pandemic Seattle and follows an agoraphobic tech worker who discovers violent crimes have occurred in a data stream. The Max Original film premieres on Feb. 10.

Also coming in February is the “Raised by Wolves” Season 2 premiere on Feb. 3, with new episodes released weekly, as well as the season premiere of “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” on Feb. 20. And coming to a close in February are the original series “Euphoria,” “And Just Like That…” and “Peacemaker,” which all air finales this month.

For its list of new releases of February 2022, HBO Max is bringing back one of its biggest original series.

The Ridley Scott-directed sci-fi epic Raised by Wolves helped launch HBO Max back in 2020 and now it’s finally back for another season. Raised by Wolves season 2 premieres with three episodes on Feb. 3. This season will continue the conflict between future atheists and theists on a remote planet, while two androids raise some kids.

February 2022 also sees the end of another, more recent HBO Max hit. Peacemaker airs its finale on Feb. 17. Thankfully that same day sees the premiere of another exciting original. Dream Raider is a Mandarin-language sci-fi thriller that carries some big Inception vibes.

There aren’t many original movies of note this month, but there are a lot of recent hits coming to HBO Max as library titles. Nightmare Alley arrives on Feb. 1, followed by The Many Saints of Newark on Feb.

In 1996, a plane carrying a high school girls’ soccer team to a championship goes down in the mountains. In present-day, the survivors of that event are adults who have never publicly discussed what happened during the many months in the wilderness before they were rescued.

Yellowjackets, Showtime’s new survival drama debuting Sunday (10/9c), chronicles the girls’ “descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans, while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later,” the show’s official logline reads.
