It’s been almost a decade since Dylan O’Brien nearly died on the set of Maze Runner: The Death Cure after a tragic accident. The actor was reportedly in a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was unexpectedly pulled off and hit by another vehicle. Production was shut down while O’Brien recovered, and it took an entire year before he was able to return to finish the film. O’Brien spoke about the accident with Men’s Health, revealing that he had raised safety concerns before the accident but was ignored.
“It was a life-changing incident. I’ve approached everything differently, you could say, particularly with regards to standing my ground on set,” he said. “It’s very commonplace in the culture for young actors to be controlled, and the way they strive to do that is by always being like, Oh, don’t become difficult.

In 2008, with two lauded features already under his belt (“Thank You for Smoking” and “Juno”), Jason Reitman took a break from one of his professional dreams (be a filmmaker) to fulfill another (be a writer on “Saturday Night Live”). For one week, the writer/director joined the crew of the venerated live sketch comedy show (it was the Ashton Kutcher-hosted episode), an experience he likens to joining the Los Angeles Lakers for a game.
Like most comedy wonks, Reitman had grown up revering “Saturday Night Live,” an affection he channels for his latest, “Saturday Night,” which he also wrote with Gil Kenan. Set on October 11, 1975, the film follows the wild, rag-tag original cast and crew as they attempt to launch the very first episode of the NBC series.

What influences will it have for society as a whole? And is it tilting at windmills or who has done it successfully?

The third season of "Treme" won't be its last. According to series creator David Simon, HBO will renew the series for a shortened fourth and final season. Season 3 begins on Sunday night at 9 p.m. Est.
“We are going to be back for a season 3.5,” Simon said during a screening of the third season premiere on Saturday night. He went on to add that HBO gave him "half a loaf," but that wasn't going to stop him from completing the story.
Not that this news is all too surprising. As THR notes, Simon had previously stated that "Treme" would wrap up after four seasons, something cast member Khadi Alexander echoed last week.
"David [Simon] has made it clear that he wants a conclusion, and it is my understanding that, as of today, we're very close to being able to have a conclusion -- and I'm looking forward to that,” she told THR.

Nancy Grace has faced criticism following the apparent suicide of a Minnesota mother whose behaviour she slammed during a recent television broadcast. Toni Medrano died on Saturday (July 7) at a hospital in Cottage Grove. She reportedly set herself on fire while visiting her mother in St. Paul Park five days earlier, and while an official cause of death is still pending the outcome of tests, the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office has confirmed that the 29-year-old died of "complications from thermal injuries". Medrano's newborn son died in November last year, after the mother-of-four fell asleep with him on a couch. She is said to have been drinking heavily the night before. An autopsy later showed that 3-week-old Adrian Medrano died of "asphyxia due to being laid upon while sleeping with an adult." Former Dancing with the Stars contestant (more)...

Nancy Grace is in the spotlight again following the suicide of a 29-year-old Minnesota mother of four who was recently featured on her television show.
According to the St. Paul Park Police Department, Toni Medrano, of Cottage Grove, Minn., died Saturday at a local hospital. It is believed Medrano's death is the result of a July 2 incident in which she allegedly set herself on fire while visiting her mother's St. Paul Park home.
"Through the preliminary investigation, the officers determined there was a flammable liquid that she used to set herself on fire," St. Paul Park Police Chief Michael Monahan told The Huffington Post.
While authorities say they suspect Medrano's death is a suicide, an official cause of death is pending.
"I can tell you preliminarily that she died of complications from thermal injuries -- that means fire," said Don Gorrie, a spokesman for the Ramsey County Medical Examiner's office.
