Famous Monsters of Filmland has announced a change in date and venue for its first annual Imagi-Movies Film Festival. The three-day event will be held at the Laemmle Music Hall in Beverly Hills, CA, located at 9036 Wilshire Blvd., from April 8-10, 2011, celebrating the legacy of Forrest J Ackerman, America's #1 sci-fi fan.

The Imagi-Movies Film Festival 2011 continues in the spirit of Famous Monsters, inspiring the imagination of storytellers worldwide. Along with the independent films from our FM Film Festival finalists, the Imagi-Movies Festival will celebrate the Vincent Price Centennial with daughter Victoria Price and the 80th anniversary of Universal's Frankenstein and Dracula with the Lugosi family. Additionally, the theater will feature exclusive previews for upcoming horror films such as Universal's The Thing, a rare collection of Stephen King's Dollar Babies exposé, and a Famous Monsters and the H.P. Lovecraft Society's compilation of Lovecraft films in...

"So where are the virgins?!" asks Brad Dourif in the 2010 trailer for The Boneyard Collection , a tongue in cheek horror anthology that's been long in the making. Edward Plumb's film began production in 2003. Over the years, he has amassed a cast that includes the late Forrest J. Ackerman and other genre vets like Kevin McCarthy, Barbara Steele, Tippi Hedren, Ken Foree and George Kennedy. Also look for Shock pal Del Howison of Dark Delicacies! The film consists of four separate short films connected by host segments. The first one, Boogie with the Undead , has an all-girl rock band booked to play a gig in a town overrun by flesh-eating zombies. Jim Warren worked with Forest J Ackerman since 1958 and they founded Famous Monsters of Filmland together. They last appeared in public at this summer's Comic-Con International but Warren flew west to see him one final time this month. He provided us with the following:

Forrest J. Ackerman was in a class by himself. You don't have to tell this to anyone who knew him or his work. You don't have to tell anyone Babe Ruth was a great hitter.

Our fifty-year relationship was also in a class by itself. I found Forry Ackerman the man was every bit as interesting as Forry ackerman the talent. Now he's gone. But the talent still lives. The words he wrote for Warren Publishing will be read and savored for as long as memory and words exist.

The King is dead. No other King can take his place.
