The original production budget started at $5,000 and was originally to be a short film. After filming most of the traffic jam sequences. The director invested another $10,000 to purchase more equipment and secure more locations to expand the story.
The film won "Best Zombie Movie" at the 2006 Fright Night Film Festival in Louisville, Kentucky. The Fright Night Film Fest was the first of 13 film festivals to show the film and the film won an award during its first festival.
The film won four awards at the Weekend De Le Peur film Festival in France: Best Director, Best Film, First Place and Excellence awards.

Three different MINI DV cameras were used in the making of the movie. The Canon GL1, The Sony VX2000 and the Panasonic DVX100. Each camera was chosen based on its technology and the look it would bring to the film.
