- TriviaA select few stories were actually dubbed into English and shown in America, as part of the series Long Ago and Far Away (1989). Much later, in 2017, all episodes were finally dubbed and made public on YouTube, and the series even had a resurgence of interest in late 2018, when YouTube's algorithm started recommending it to a large number of international viewers.

Hungarian Folk Tales was made by the time when hungary was an socialist country.
So the Kecskemét film studio needed a concept, but they could not afford a new cartoon storyboard. Then in Marcell Jankovics's mind came up an amazing idea: What if we made a cartoon about Hungarian Folk Tales? And the idea was a big succes in Hungary.
The cartoon itself features a lot of Hungarian symbol. The intro itself is a reference for the Hungarikum logo (i think), and its looks really nice. The cartoon has only 100 episodes, because Kecskemét film studio wanted to end the series with a nice number. It is still watchable by now, even for kids. But the english translate is not as enjoyable, as the Hungarian one, but its alright.
