When they stuff the bank manager into the cupboard, he is wrapped in chains, with a bomb round his neck and black tape over his mouth and a cloth sack over his head. When they drag him back out, all that has disappeared.
At the beginning of the movie, the pile of passports on the airport counter is neatly stacked from one viewpoint. Then, in the next scene, the passports are in disarray. The scene changes half a dozen times while the guys are talking to the receptionist, so the passports keep re-arranging themselves constantly.
When the Taxi is being driven to Heathrow Airport towards the end, one scene shows the license plate as LP04 YES and in the very next scene the cab that pulls up is 56 plate.
The person who pointed out the error about the Taxi license plate, was himself in error. The Taxi was going to Luton Airport and not Heathrow.
When the Daihatsu van reverses through the front doors of the bank, an occupant is thrown through the rear window. Looking at the shards of glass left in the window frame, it is clear that plate glass was in the rear window as the shards are too large. All vehicles have toughened or laminated glass for safety.
Toughened glass breaks into tiny fragments and laminated glass comes out in one piece.
The sound of glass breaking on the tiled floor also suggests plate glass.
In the start of the movie the man from the radio says that Italy will play against Romania, but in real life Romania never qualified for World Cup 2006.
Alex makes a big point of replacing and removing the hood from the female hostage, for no real purpose, as she's staff, and would therefore know where she is in the bank anyway, but never blindfolds the doctor, who would then be able to describe hostage numbers, numbers of gunmen, and reveal the identity of the wounded man, who at this point is still wearing a boilersuit.
After telling Alex he doesn't know Chubby's blood group, the doctor is told to get the most common type-he orders "at least three units of 'O' negative", but the most common blood type in the UK is 'O' positive (38%)... Only 7% of the population have 'O' negative blood, and as a practicing medical professional, he would know that...
The opening scenes show the gang checking into Luton Airport and then getting in the van. To get to Central London from Luton, you travel through North West London, and don't cross the Thames. They arrive in London and are seen crossing the Thames at Waterloo Bridge from the South East London end.
The bank is located in the City of London (Cheapside?)-a good place to film, as at weekends it's virtually deserted... But the police officers are all from the Met., a different constabulary, with no jurisdiction within the square mile...
