Kill ‘Em All 2 picks up seven years after the events of the original, which makes sense since there’s seven years between the films, with Phillip reconnected with his daughter Vanessa and the two of them hiding out in southern Italy.
They obviously didn’t do a good job of it, as within the film’s first few minutes they’re attacked by goons working for Vlad Petrovic who is out to avenge the death of his brother Dimitri who was killed in the first film. This puts them on the run, trying to stay alive long enough to deal with Vlad and his crew, and the only way to do that is to kill ’em all.

A new Van Halen box set, The Collection II, has been announced and will arrive on October 6th via Rhino.
Following the 2015 set, The Collection, which housed the band’s first six albums with David Lee Roth, The Collection II will cull the four Van Halen albums featuring singer Sammy Hagar in addition to several studio rarities and a B-side.
Affectionately known as the “Van Hagar” years, Eddie Van Halen and company released four successful LPs while fronted by the Red Rocker during the ’80s and ’90s: 5150 (1986), OU812 (1988), For Unlawful Carnal Knowledge (1991), and Balance (1995).
The Collection II will compile these records together for the first time on vinyl ($124.98) and CD ($49.98). A fifth disc, titled Studio Rarities 1989-2004, is especially of note for hardcore Van Halen enthusiasts. Among these eight tracks is “Crossing Over,” the B-Side to Balance’s “Can’t Stop Lovin’ You” (the band’s only non-album B-side...

Jurassic Valley is set in 2030. We’re told that nations have been pushed increasingly apart and the world is on the brink of disaster. And that government investment in the war effort has produced a breakthrough “of Jurassic proportions”. In more direct terms it means that we’ve managed to recreate dinosaurs, the flesh-eating ones of course, just in time for World War III to send us back to the stone age.
Now, two years later a group of survivors are running out of food and medical supplies. Three of them, Daniel, Drew and Mia set out to find whatever can be scavenged. This does not sit well with Louise who is carrying Daniel’s child. She, however, may be in as much danger as he will be because they’re all living in the Jurassic Valley.

(Updated with statement from Weinstein lawyer) More than four months after being sentenced to 23 years behind bars for rape and other sex crimes, Harvey Weinstein now will have to finally face Ashley Judd in court in the Berlin Station actor’s sexual harassment case.
Reversing a lower court’s 2018 decision on the grounds of a perceived lack of an employment relationship to toss out Judd’s claims, a trio of Pasadena-based judges on the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has set the stage for a trial likely early next year.
“Their relationship consisted of an inherent power imbalance wherein Weinstein was uniquely situated to exercise coercion or leverage over Judd by virtue of his professional position and influence as a top producer in Hollywood,” Judge Mary H. Murguia wrote in the opinion (read it here) released Wednesday, flipping the nearly two-year-old ruling by Judge Philip Gutierrez.

An appeals court on Wednesday ruled that Ashley Judd can pursue a sexual harassment claim against Harvey Weinstein, finding that he held power over her career when he invited her to his room at the Peninsula Hotel in the mid-1990s.
The three-judge panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals reversed the lower court, which had thrown out the claim on the grounds that Judd was not Weinstein’s employee at the time of the meeting.
“(T)heir relationship consisted of an inherent power imbalance wherein Weinstein was uniquely situated to exercise coercion or leverage over Judd by virtue of his professional position and influence as a top producer in Hollywood,” wrote Judge Mary H. Murguia, for the panel. “Therefore, the district court erred when it dismissed Judd’s sexual harassment claim.”

So many VOD-centric dramas call to mind the direct-to-video Blockbuster fodder of yesteryear that it’s actually refreshing to come across one that’s more reminiscent of a cleverly plotted TV-movie from primetime of the 1970s. It’s quite easy to imagine “A Crooked Somebody” airing as an “ABC Movie of the Week” during the Polyester Era with, say, Monte Markham and Robert Culp doing yeoman service in the lead roles and a good 20 minutes or so shaven from the narrative to allow for commercial breaks. On the other hand, it’s even easier to simply enjoy it as a satisfyingly crafted entertainment that doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, but does take a few surprising detours from well-trodden genre paths.

Updated with statement from Weinstein’s rep: Ashley Judd has filed a lawsuit against Harvey Weinstein alleging that his pattern of retaliation, defamation, and sabotage against women who refused his sexual advances damaged her career.
The suit’s claims partly hinge on the news reports about Peter Jackson and Fran Walsh wanting to cast Judd in their Lord of the Rings movies backed by Weinstein’s Miramax in 1998. The suit says that, in retaliation for Judd rebuffing Weinstein, he “torpedoed Ms. Judd’s incredible professional opportunity” when he told Jackson and Walsh “that [his] studio had had a ‘bad experience’ with Ms. Judd, and that Ms. Judd was a ‘nightmare’ to work with and should be avoided ‘at all costs.’ ”
“With those baseless smears, Weinstein succeeded in blacklisting Ms. Judd and destroying her ability to work on what became a multibillion-dollar franchise with 17 Academy Award wins and
many more nominations,” the suit reads.

Ashley Judd filed suit in Los Angeles Superior Court on Monday, accusing Harvey Weinstein of retaliating against her because she refused his sexual advances.
Judd contends that Weinstein smeared her reputation to director Peter Jackson, causing him not to cast her in “The Lord of the Rings.”
“Mr. Weinstein’s abusive conduct toward others has caused no end of damage to aspiring actors and others in the film and entertainment industry,” Judd said in a statement. “As my experience and the experience of others shows, even a few false statements from Mr. Weinstein could destroy potentially career-changing professional opportunities. It’s time that Mr. Weinstein be held accountable for that conduct and for the ways in which he’s damaged careers.”
Judd is seeking damages for defamation, sexual harassment and violations of California’s unfair business competition law.

With The Last Jedi on the horizon, a couple new Star Wars book releases over the last few months have offered some interesting teases of what's (potentially) to come, and added other key details into the new canon. As such, it's time to break it all down and get a grasp on the current "State of the Galaxy."

Marvel has done well creating their shared movie universe, displaying far better execution with their properties than their rival DC Comics. Using 2008’s Iron Man as a launching pad, The Marvel Cinematic Universe has become a box office juggernaut, executing phase after phase with near perfection.
While having massive success in theaters, Marvel has slowly been building a secondary universe on the small screen. Beginning in 2013 with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. for ABC, and then teaming up with Netflix to bring a grittier, more adult show with 2015’s Daredevil. Marvel’s movie universe tends to make use of the bigger and more mainstream characters, while the TV shows have focused on the lesser known Marvel properties such as Jessica Jones and Iron Fist.

Marvel's Cool with People Crossing Over to DC Marvel Comics and DC Comics have long had a rivalry. They are competing business enterprises, after all. But that rivalry has always been more rabid among the fans than the companies themselves. For decades people loved to pit the comics against each other, and now they're doing it with the movies as well. But does that animosity exist between Marvel Studios and Warner Bros.? Not really, at least according to Kevin Feige. The Marvel Studios honcho confirmed they don't force their actors into contracts that stipulate what other superhero projects they can and cannot take on. That's why they're totally okay with Josh Brolin going from playing Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War to Cable in Deadpool...

A few weeks back, Lrm had a story where Greg Berlanti (Creator of Black Lightning and all the CW DC shows) said that it would be highly unlikely that the worlds would crossover if it even existed. One of our ace reporters here -- oh, who am I kidding, it was just me -- wrote that he did not actually say, "No." Additionally, I speculated how cool it would be to tie the Speedforce into Black Lightning's powers, and that Berlanti's phrasing makes me think that it could fail on Fox and simply end up on The CW anyways. Well, it appears that the show did not even make it to the pilot as Fox has dropped the big budget show.

Comic Books: The DC Universe-then And Now!
Recently I wrote an article for introducing new readers to the world of Batman. The purpose of the article was to help new and casual readers find strong starting points in the characters 75+ years of publication to begin reading. It was suggested that perhaps to coincide with these types of articles; it would be helpful to have a sort of reference point for major content-altering events in the DC Comics Universe, along with perhaps a quick glossary of some key words used in the Comic Book Vernacular. My goal here will be to hopefully give a brief but well-presented breakdown of the DC Universe from inception to the current state. Keep in mind this will only be covering the major continuity/time altering events, and will not each and every company event that’s been published.

From the moment I saw the Supergirl pilot I liked it. But let’s face it CBS didn’t exactly make this show as available to the target audience as it should have. Well with the show making the move to the CW to join the winning team you can get caught up with the release of the first season on DVD and Blu Ray. August 9, 2016 you can get all 20 episodes, plus the deleted scenes, gag reel, and Comic-Con panel. Priced at 49.99 for the DVD version a 54.97 for the Blu Ray it’s your way of getting caught up on the character before she makes her debut in the DC/CW universe.
Look I was disappointed at the limited release of this show. The lead actress was solid, costume looked good, and the story was pretty good. Crossing over with the Flash was very well done and I’m glad...

Harrison Ford injured in plane accident (image: Harrison Ford as Colonel Graff in 'Ender's Game') Star Wars and Raiders of the Lost Ark actor Harrison Ford was supposed to be in critical condition – later reports have upgraded that to "fair" or "stable" condition – following an accident with a small airplane on Los Angeles' Westside. Earlier this afternoon (March 5, 2015), a vintage, one-engine two-seater crash landed at the Penmar Golf Course, located in the Los Angeles suburb of Venice, not far from the Pacific Ocean and just west of Santa Monica Airport. Its pilot, 72-year-old Harrison Ford, was found "seriously" injured. He was alone on the plane. There were no injuries on the ground. As explained in the Los Angeles Times, "fire officials would not identify the victim of the crash but said he was conscious and breathing when paramedics arrived." Ford was later transported to an unidentified hospital. Eleven...

The Winter TCA's continue today, with CBS now addressing the assembled media. Out first for the Us' most-watched network is Nina Tassler, Entertainment Chair. The recerntly announced Supergirl tv show from Greg Berlanti was of course one of the first topics addressed. Said Tassler, "As you can tell from the strength of the female characters we have on television, it's a real passion of ours. "[Supergirl is] a story and a coming-of-age opportunity for us." On why CBS is venturing into superhero territory, Tassler stated, "There is a human drama there…I think we’re watching an evolution in the way superheroes are protrayed…I think for our network, what we responded to was the character’s humanity…and the show’s arc and growth." Sneak Peek revealing images and footage of Brit actress Alice Eve, aka 'Carol Marcus' from "Star Trek Into Darkness", in a classic photo shoot for "Maxim" magazine:
"There is an acting gene that has been passed down to me by my parents," said Eve. "It's nature, not nurture..."
Eve is best known for her roles in the films "Starter for 10" (2006), "Crossing Over" (2009), "She's Out of My League" (2010), "Sex and the City 2" (2010), "The Raven" (2012), "Men in Black 3" (2012) and "Star Trek Into Darkness" (2013).
Eve is also known for a notorious but innocent scene in "Star Trek Into Darkness", when her character, science officer 'Carol Marcus' strips down to her underwear (as an homage to Sigourney Weaver as 'Ripley' in "Alien")...

Everyone’s gunning for Klaus when The Originals returns for Season 2 on Monday (The CW, 8/7c), which really puts a damper on a hybrid’s love life.
Both of his parents have returned from the dead for revenge, Francesca and her clan have taken over the Quarter and who only knows what other troubles await the Original and his family.
With so many threats nipping at Klaus’ heels, it sounds like there’s not much time for romance, certainly not any that will end well for either party, star Joseph Morgan reveals below. (Sorry, ‘shippers of all kinds.)

Warning: The following contains spoilers from Thursday’s season premiere of The Vampire Diaries.
The Vampire Diaries returned for Season 6 on Thursday night, but not all of its players were back to their old selves.
Elena, for one, was suppressing her grief by taking witchy drugs to “see” Damon and feeding on humans on the outskirts of Mystic Falls — not that it was helping. To truly make the pain go away, she asked Alaric for a drastic favor.
Then there’s Stefan, who was off living a new life with a new girl, while Damon and Bonnie were bonding… somewhere.
