In August 2023, Gary was accused by make-up artist Samantha Suarez of sexual misconduct.

Samantha and her boyfriend, camera operator Grey Duddleston, filed the lawsuit with the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles on Tuesday, February 25.

The suit was filed by former crew members Samantha Suarezand her boyfriend Grey Duddleston, who named King, NBCUniversal, Bravo, and 51 Minds — the production company behind Below Deck — among the defendants. According to the complaint, which was obtained by People, Suarez was hired as a hair and makeup artist, while Duddleston worked as a camera operator during the filming of the show’s fourth season in July 2022.

In a legal complaint filed on February 25, Below Deck hair and makeup artist Samantha Suarez and camera operator Grey Duddleston allege that Below Deck Sailing Yacht cast member Gary King “held [Suarez] hostage in a hotel room” while filming Season 4 of this franchise in July 2022.
