Funniest murder mystery

Some people are probably left stone cold by this film while others revel in laughter. Depends on your sense of humor and background. The makers of this film say it's an homage to Agatha Christie, but it could as easily be one to Monty Python. It should definitely be watched in a crowded auditorium and not alone at home, because as a vaudeville act, this one plays on the crowd's expectations and anticipation of the next turn of the screw. A nifty and clever little film. Hilarious acting.

'Damn unions!"

As a person who has sat through every episode of Poirot and Miss Marple, I can relate to the humor. It's a parody of a typical, ostentatious 'grand finale', where all the suspects are gathered in a lavish dining room and one by one masks are being torn down, until the culprits are revealed. The whole murder mystery is jammed into only 8 minutes, but it's extremely logical, makes perfect sense and could have been effortlessly stretched into a full hour episode. Everything else is screwball comedy with a classy twist. Don't even start watching this if you have never been a fan of old British detective TV - you just won't get it!

Nasty Fun!

Mart Sander has made a small career out of some very striking short-films and this macabre black-comedy-thriller hits all the right tonal notes which adds up to something special. The performances are all extremely well-calibrated and in perfect harmony with the twisted narrative material. Sander also has a strong eye for directorial composition - this has been evident all throughout his work as a filmmaker. Efforts like this will vary in terms of the audience's level of enjoyment based on what they find to be "funny" - for this viewer - the film nails its mark.
