As exciting as Amazon's Masters of the Universe adaptation may be, it needs to get a lot of things right to be a worthy adaptation of He-Man's adventures. We really do live in an age where everything old is young again. Mattel's Masters of the Universe franchise is set to return to the big screen in an Amazon/MGM movie scheduled for June 5, 2026. It's the first time He-Man will have appeared in theaters since a 1987 film starring Dolf Lundgren, one of the one of the most notorious box office bombs of Hollywood history.

Música's 95% Rotten Tomatoes score proves Camila Mendes' rom-com prowess since Palm Springs. Mendes' film career sparkles with hit movies, making her a standout rom-com lead actress. Música's unique story, charismatic cast, and musical features create a must-see romantic comedy.
Prime Video's latest romantic comedy, Música, continues a Rotten Tomatoes hot streak for its leading actress, Camila Mendes. Mendes first broke out onto the scene as Veronica Lodge in Riverdale, the 2017 teen mystery drama series based on the characters of the Archie comics. The TV show was an illustrious professional start for Mendes, establishing an abundant following and enough positive critical reception to sustain itself and Mendes' lead role for seven seasons from 2017 to 2023; though, despite an incredible run on television, the actress has since set her sights on tailoring her career toward film.

The Scream Meta-Franchise's potential Stab 9 would be based on Scream 6, and a slew of actors could take on the roles of the characters. Scream's meta nature has always set it apart from the slasher movies that came before it. With Wes Craven as the original director, he was able to reference his prior work, like having Ghostface talk to Drew Barrymore's Casey Becker on the phone about A Nightmare On Elm Street. However, the franchise took Meta to a new level in Scream 2 with the introduction of the Stab franchise, based on the events in the first Scream.
Gale Weathers might be a kick-ass character known for defeating Ghostface for over a decade, but she also knows how to profit off her own trauma and the trauma of the others involved in the killings. Her books about the Woodsboro killings in the first Scream inspired the Stab franchise,...

With season 7 beginning on March 29th, 2023, the Riverdale cast has welcomed back some familiar faces while also introducing several new characters. Based on the Archie Comics, Riverdale began in 2017 as a simple crime drama and followed the lives of Archie Andrews, Betty Cooper, Jughead Jones and Veronica Lodge as they investigated the death of their classmate, Jason Blossom (Trevor Stines). While the murder mystery formula in season 1 was a success, the show has since garnered interest for exploring other genres (such as the supernatural or horror) and coming up with the wildest and most fanciful subplots.
Season 7 seems to be continuing the trend as "The Core Four", along with their friends and loved ones, have all been transported back to 1955 after Tabitha saved them all from being hit by Bailey's Comet. With them all playing juniors at Riverdale High, viewers will not only be introduced to several new characters in this timeline,...

DC fans choose the best actor to play Lois Lane in the Dcu's Superman: Legacy. With the birth of the Dcu comes a new group of actors who will portray DC's extensive cast of characters. James Gunn's announcement for the Dcu's first chapter, "Gods and Monsters," lists a variety of confirmed projects, but it includes no mention of the actors who will star in them, with Viola Davis' Amanda Waller being the only likely exception. But even before major DC characters such as Batman and Superman are cast, fans are already coming up with their own choices for key figures like Lois Lane.
Reddit user Blue_Robin_04 shares his interest for Riverdale actor Camila Mendes in the Dcu's Lois Lane opposite the Dcu's yet-to-be-recast Superman. The DC fan argues that Mendes' performance as Veronica Lodge in Riverdale aligns with Lois Lane's characterization due to Veronica's kind but no-nonsense personality.

Claws-out high school drama has inspired some pretty memorable movies. Youthful touchstones like Heathers, Cruel Intentions, and Mean Girls take the intensity of hormones and the cruelty of high school students, and mix them with snappy, era-appropriate dialogue and up-and-coming stars. It’s a potent cocktail that when mixed just right yields delicious results. Netflix is looking to follow that template with their new high school revenge comedy Do Revenge, directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, the co-writer of Thor: Love and Thunder who previously helmed Netflix’s Someone Great and created MTV’s Sweet/Vicious.
Will Do Revenge become the 2020s defacto teens-behaving-badly comedy? Only time will tell, but Do Revenge’s cast is enticing enough to suggest that the alchemy may be right for another mean girl magnum opus. Not sure where you’ve seen some of these fresh-faced stars before? Read below to find out.

Hostage House sees an ambitious realtor, who’s showing a palatial-looking home in her neighbourhood, get caught up, along with her daughter, in a hostage situation during an open house…
Who doesn’t love a good Die Hard-esque home invasion movie? Homeowners versus thieves in a battle of wits… Or maybe an adult version of Home Alone, with traps taking out crooks? Yeah Hostage House is neither of those things; no matter how much I wanted it to be. I does feature its protagonists eventually taking on the thieves but the bulk of the film plays more on the tension between captives and captors – only finally moving into anything resembling your typical home invasion movie in the final third of the film.
Which is odd...

An uninspired Fatal Attraction knock-off wastes a charismatic Nia Long on a script with zero surprises or tension
From the company that gave us Secret Obsession and Dangerous Lies comes another Lifetime movie-level “thriller” that pairs two picked-out-of-a-hat genre buzzwords together and comes up with something we’ve seen many, many times before. The surprising success of the aforementioned Netflix originals has caused the streamer to frantically assemble more of the same: low-budget, low-risk TV movies that place vaguely recognisable actors in familiar situations. With Fatal Affair, it’s the 90s stars Nia Long and Omar Epps replaying the endlessly regurgitated Fatal Attraction formula with absolutely nothing new brought to the table.

It’s a long way from the more traditional suburban town of Riverdale, but breakout film and television actor and social media phenomenon Camila Mendes has bought a nearly $1.9 million home in Los Angeles that’s just an easy trek to the bright lights of Hollywood.
The centrally-located yet secluded retreat is sited on L.A.’s hipster-chic Eastside, in the perennially popular neighborhood of Silver Lake. Though the .17-acre property isn’t especially big, the house is all but invisible from the road, screened behind locked gates and a tall thicket of ficus plants.
Originally built in 1924, the nearly century-old abode has clearly been renovated many times over the past decades, to the point where its modest bungalow beginnings are all but totally erased. Today, the 2,000 sq. ft. structure is described as a “custom modern home” in marketing materials and offers an open-concept floorplan with hardwood floors and trendy amenities throughout.

The Netflix original movie Dangerous Lies is a thriller that many say lacks originality and dimension. But one thing the movie isn't lacking in is clichés. While some viewers will be able to suspend their disbelief enough to get hooked into the drama and suspense, others might feel that there is not much to this movie in terms of substance and excitement. While Camila Mendes is often enjoyable to watch, some viewers felt as though she was the only thing worth watching, and she's not new to being a lifeboat on a sinking ship.

Netflix's Dangerous Lies, starring Riverdale's Camila Mendes, attempts to weave a tangled web of deception in a classic whodunit mystery that ends up feeling more like a Hallmark channel mystery. There's one shocking layer added on after another and it's difficult to keep track of the plotlines and if they succeed in tying them all up.

Michael M. Scott’s Dangerous Lies is #1 on all the Netflix charts, but a cursory glance at Twitter shows that most viewers are just hating on it. And they’re not being gentle, either.
The film was only released on April 30th, but already seems to be growing into the most watchable terrible movie phenomena of recent memory, which may come as a surprise given its less notably poor Metacritic score of 49% at the time of writing. Most viewers are finding it to be pretty unbearable, too, and you can see below for but a sample of what folks are saying about it over on Twitter:
The most dangerous lie is Netflix telling these people they’re good actors #DangerousLies

One of those movies in which nobody seems to smell a dead body that's been decomposing above the garage for two years, and a seemingly smart cop's suspicions about a sizable inheritance never prompt her to question the attorney who drew up the will, Dangerous Lies is riddled with dumb logic. “You are an essential part of a perfect social body,” says an overhead voice. “Everybody in their place. Everybody happy now.” This perfect society is New London, where life is free of pain and there is no such thing as monogamy, privacy, money, or family. But just outside New London’s bounds are the Savage Lands, where no such restrictions exist. The teaser highlights an emotional moment between Demi Moore’s character and her son. “There’s no pain there, John,” she says. “No fear. I want that for you.

"Kinda have the feeling we're being followed..." Netflix has unveiled an official trailer for a mystery thriller titled Dangerous Lies, marking the feature directorial debut of a veteran TV filmmaker named Michael Scott. When a wealthy elderly man dies and unexpectedly leaves his estate to his new caregiver, she's drawn into a web of deception and murder. If she's going to survive, she'll have to question everyone's motives — even the people she loves. It seems as if viewers can never get enough of these stories about "a complex web of lies, deception, and murder", who is doing what and why and who is this person. Camila Mendes (from "Riverdale") stars, along with Jessie T. Usher, Jamie Chung, Cam Gigandet, plus Sasha Alexander and Elliott Gould. This kinda has a super serious, cheesy TV movie version of Knives Out vibe, about a young caretaker who gets the inheritance causing everyone else to freak out.

Netflix produces a ton of original content. Numerous series and films are churned out on a regular basis for the world’s largest streaming platform. So, it’s hard to tell which ones are worth watching and which are most likely going to be skipped. And while you may write off “Dangerous Lies” as another fairly low-budget Netflix film offering, there’s a chance you might want to watch it as a weird alternate-universe take on Rian Johnson’s “Knives Out.”

Netflix has confirmed that 58 new original series, movies and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in April. Leading off the lineup are season 2 of the Ricky Gervais serio-comic series “After Life” and the debut of Mindy Kaling‘s childhood memoir “Never Have I Ever.” And in these trying times, take comfort in the slew of comedy specials, including one pairing “Silicon Valley” leading man Thomas Middleditch and “Parks and Recreation” scene stealer Ben Schwartz.
On the reality side, we can’t wait to gobble up season 4 of the baking show “Nailed It!” and delight in the debut of the dating series “Too Hot to Handle.”
Netflix is a global presence and it brings many of its international hits to American screens this month, including new seasons of Israel’s spy thriller “Fauda,” Spain’s crime drama “Money Heist” and England’s sport docuseries “Sunderland ’Til I Die.

With streaming services growing like weeds and a new one on the way this month in the form of Quibi, there’s never been more pressure on Netflix to remain our platform of choice. As a result, it’s making original TV series and movies at an accelerated pace that we can barely keep up with. There’s only so much time in the day! Please, think of us as the Dom Toretto of streaming – we live our lives a quarter mile at a time.
As a result, we’re putting together a monthly list of everything we know is coming to Netflix UK, so you can plan ahead and make informed choices. Use your spare time wisely, and you’re likely to experience …well, let’s just say ‘slightly fewer regrets’. We don’t want to go overboard.
Alright then, let’s take a look at what’s ahead in April…...

Tom Clancy novels Rainbow Six and Without Remorse will be adapted in a movie series, with Michael B. Jordan set to star as hero John Clark.
Tom Clancy live-action adaptations aren't exactly in short supply in this epoch of the entertainment industry. Indeed, another iteration is being planned for the big screen, this time brandishing the ever-escalating stardom of Michael B. Jordan as the headliner for what’s being telegraphed as a film franchise.
Michael B. Jordan is set to play Tom Clancy novel hero John Clark in at least two films for Paramount that will adapt the late author’s novels Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, reports Variety. The franchise-building efforts will be headed by Akiva Goldsman, current maestro of the Transformers film universe, joined by producers in Josh Appelbaum, Corin Nemec and the star himself, Jordan. Paramount is reportedly meeting with writers and directors for the first outing.
