As exciting as Amazon's Masters of the Universe adaptation may be, it needs to get a lot of things right to be a worthy adaptation of He-Man's adventures. We really do live in an age where everything old is young again. Mattel's Masters of the Universe franchise is set to return to the big screen in an Amazon/MGM movie scheduled for June 5, 2026. It's the first time He-Man will have appeared in theaters since a 1987 film starring Dolf Lundgren, one of the one of the most notorious box office bombs of Hollywood history.

Sony’s reboot of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” has found its principal cast.

Camila Mendes, Madelyn Cline, Sarah Pidgeon, Tyriq Withers and Jonah Haur-King are in talks to join the cast of the 1997 horror flick’s redux.

The original film followed four young friends bound by a tragic accident who are reunited when they find themselves being stalked by a hook-wielding maniac. The film became a cult classic, earned over $125 million worldwide and led to the sequel “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer.” Original stars Freddie Prinze Jr. and Jennifer Love Hewitt are in talks to return.

Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (“Do Revenge”) is directing the film, which is written by Sam Lansky and Kaytin Robinson off a draft by Leah McKendrick. Neal Moritz is producing.

Sony Pictures will release the film in theaters on July 18, 2025.

Exclusive: Riverdale’s Camila Mendes and Stranger Things‘ Maya Hawke have been tapped to lead Strangers, the Netflix feature film from director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson that follows her feature directorial debut Someone Great, also for the streamer.

Robinson and Celeste Ballard co-wrote the pic, which is described as a subverted Hitchock-ian dark comedy featuring the scariest protagonists of all: teenage girls. It follows Drew and Eleanor who, after a clandestine meet-cute, team up to go after each other’s bullies.

Robinson is producing the pic with Anthony Bregman and Peter Cron for Likely Story under their overall deal with Netflix.

Netflix announced Wednesday it had acquired the movie rights to Richard Paul Evans’ New York Times bestselling novel, published in 2017. Charles Shyer, whose credits include “Alfie” and “Father of the Bride,” will direct from a script he’s writing with Rebecca Connor and David Golden (“Dangerous Lies”).

An uninspired Fatal Attraction knock-off wastes a charismatic Nia Long on a script with zero surprises or tension

From the company that gave us Secret Obsession and Dangerous Lies comes another Lifetime movie-level “thriller” that pairs two picked-out-of-a-hat genre buzzwords together and comes up with something we’ve seen many, many times before. The surprising success of the aforementioned Netflix originals has caused the streamer to frantically assemble more of the same: low-budget, low-risk TV movies that place vaguely recognisable actors in familiar situations. With Fatal Affair, it’s the 90s stars Nia Long and Omar Epps replaying the endlessly regurgitated Fatal Attraction formula with absolutely nothing new brought to the table.

It’s a long way from the more traditional suburban town of Riverdale, but breakout film and television actor and social media phenomenon Camila Mendes has bought a nearly $1.9 million home in Los Angeles that’s just an easy trek to the bright lights of Hollywood.

The centrally-located yet secluded retreat is sited on L.A.’s hipster-chic Eastside, in the perennially popular neighborhood of Silver Lake. Though the .17-acre property isn’t especially big, the house is all but invisible from the road, screened behind locked gates and a tall thicket of ficus plants.

Originally built in 1924, the nearly century-old abode has clearly been renovated many times over the past decades, to the point where its modest bungalow beginnings are all but totally erased. Today, the 2,000 sq. ft. structure is described as a “custom modern home” in marketing materials and offers an open-concept floorplan with hardwood floors and trendy amenities throughout.

The Netflix original movie Dangerous Lies is a thriller that many say lacks originality and dimension. But one thing the movie isn't lacking in is clichés. While some viewers will be able to suspend their disbelief enough to get hooked into the drama and suspense, others might feel that there is not much to this movie in terms of substance and excitement. Michael M. Scott’s Dangerous Lies is #1 on all the Netflix charts, but a cursory glance at Twitter shows that most viewers are just hating on it. And they’re not being gentle, either.

The film was only released on April 30th, but already seems to be growing into the most watchable terrible movie phenomena of recent memory, which may come as a surprise given its less notably poor Metacritic score of 49% at the time of writing. Netflix has confirmed that 58 new original series, movies and specials will be debuting on the streaming service in April. Leading off the lineup are season 2 of the Ricky Gervais serio-comic series “After Life” and the debut of Mindy Kaling‘s childhood memoir “Never Have I Ever.” And in these trying times, take comfort in the slew of comedy specials, including one pairing “Silicon Valley” leading man Thomas Middleditch and “Parks and Recreation” scene stealer Ben Schwartz.

On the reality side, we can’t wait to gobble up season 4 of the baking show “Nailed It!” and delight in the debut of the dating series “Too Hot to Handle.”

Netflix is a global presence and it brings many of its international hits to American screens this month, including new seasons of Israel’s spy thriller “Fauda,” Spain’s crime drama “Money Heist” and England’s sport docuseries “Sunderland ’Til I Die.

Netflix is about to make your next month of social distancing a whole lot easier.

On Tuesday, the streaming service announced all the movies and shows coming to the platform in April, and it’s jam-packed with content to keep you busy while you’re stuck at home thanks to coronavirus.

Go on a family adventure with The Willoughbys (available April 22), an animated comedy featuring the voices of Alessia Cara, Maya Rudolph, Terry Crews, and Ricky Gervais, or watch hilarious baking fails on Nailed It!: Season 4, available April 1.

Exclusive: Jacob Scipio, Cam Gigandet, Jack Kesy and Todd Lasance are joining Michael B. Jordan’s Navy Seal team in Paramount’s feature take on Tom Clancy’s Without Remorse.

Directed by Stefano Sollima, Without Remorse is the origin story of John Clark, played by Jordan, a Navy Seal-turned-CIA ops officer, who seeks revenge after his girlfriend is killed by a Baltimore drug lord. At one point in the Clancy-lit-verse, Clark served as Jack Ryan’s bodyguard.

The foursome join already cast Luke Mitchell, who we announced was playing, Rowdy, another Seal team member. Scipio and Gigandet we hear will respectively play Hatchet and Webb. Jodie Turner-Smith and Jamie Bell also star.

Tom Clancy novels Rainbow Six and Without Remorse will be adapted in a movie series, with Michael B. Jordan set to star as hero John Clark.

Tom Clancy live-action adaptations aren't exactly in short supply in this epoch of the entertainment industry. Indeed, another iteration is being planned for the big screen, this time brandishing the ever-escalating stardom of Michael B. Jordan as the headliner for what’s being telegraphed as a film franchise.

Michael B. Jordan is set to play Tom Clancy novel hero John Clark in at least two films for Paramount that will adapt the late author’s novels Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, reports Variety. The franchise-building efforts will be headed by Akiva Goldsman, current maestro of the Transformers film universe, joined by producers in Josh Appelbaum, Corin Nemec and the star himself, Jordan. Paramount is reportedly meeting with writers and directors for the first outing.
