From the beginning till the interval, it contains intriguing elements. The second half was quite outstretched with too many loopholes in the plot. One big plus point is its background score- amazing amazing amazing..

If you are looking for thriller Indian movie. Go for it.
Unrealistic motive of a serial killer makes you question a bit. But acting and plot twists are good.

Movie was interesting. Some area I became irritated. I knew this movie is highly hard worked to made. Some people doesn't like because it's emotionally touching to parents.

Thanks to whounit films of the past like CBI series or the number of action-cop drama's starring Suresh Gopi, Malayalam film audiences have accepted the genre of such kind & with the success of recent film like Anjaam Pathiraa the genre in seeing a resurgance in the industry.
The film involves a forensic officer who involves himself in the investigation of serial killings of small girls. The rest of the film deals with how the protagonist defies his superior's and tries to stop the serial killing which to large extent affects his personal life as well.
Forensic as a film easily fits into the genre of whodunit film. It is effective in building up the thrill element of the film and would keep its viewers gripped to the seats till the very end. The main protagonist which involves Tovino and Mamta enact their parts well but majority of the supporting actors feel under-utilized. The 2nd half of the film involves certain cliches and the cinematography of the film is medicore as it looks like it has been inspired from RGV type of camera work. Same can be said about the stunt sequences as well.
The ending of the film gave an indication of a sequel in case if it releases i would looking forward to it. On the whole it is a must watch for the lovers of investigative thriller and would be more excited for more such films to come.

Psychopath's crime doesn't have a motive, the crime itself is his motive"..it's his ecstasy... Psycho thrillers were always been a favourite genres of many.. Looks like it has a market all over the world.. Ranging from "Psycho" to "Memories of murder" to "Silence of the lambs" to "zodiac"..In mollywood also 2020 was welcomed by ANJAAM PATHIRA... so the challenge was right there... There shouldn't be any common elements between the movies except being a thriller and the directorial crew had come out with flying colors... FORENSIC.. The most crucial department related to crimes.. The movie is narrated through the eyes of a medico legal adviser Samuel John katookaran aka Sam portrayed by Tovino Thomas.. Bags his first investigation thriller..out of instincts and his experience he finds a lead that extends to the BURMA COLONY child abductor..who abduct girl child of age btw 8-12..who were later found murderer...Sam tracks down a victim pattern. This seat of the edge thriller written and director by Anas Khan and Akhil Paul.. Latter was known for the 2014 thriller "7th day"so after seeing the teaser n trailer thought Sam maybe the killer... 😂😂😂.. But on detailed approach of it showed the presence of the accused in many shots.. He stabs the victim under the ribcage makes a 10 cm deep with a single edged weapon.. "We might be lolooking at a very different type of crime" There at that instant story gains momentum.. All the shots are brilliantly captured by Akhil George in blend with the thrilling bgms by Jakes Bejoy.. And the editing by Shameer Mohammed was also so very crisp.. Truely an extremely engaging, psychic and highly promising first half with the standards far far above the conventional thriller standards.. Twists n turns delivered at an entirely new manner.. On the latter part.. There layed the motive... And who... Why... All got solved... A justifiable way to wrap up the shot... Another thriller is served for 2020...started with ANJAAM PATHIRA... entered a TRANCE and everything is solved by the FORENSIC experts🔥a 2hr 15 minute seat edged thriller with minimal flaws..worth watching..🔥#forensic#akhil Paul#anas khan#rebamonica#mamtamohandas#saijukurup#jakesbejoy#akhil george

Well, stick with your original story man, or else you will end up with a mess that not even Steven Spielberg can save. Tovino was like a marooned guy after taking lsd daily and on a acid trip on the whole movie. I think he had some personal issues during the shooting of this movie.
Mamtha and other girl who's supposed to be the heroine is not even trying to act in a movie she's like I'm here to watch some movie stars.
Only exception is the serial killer, who acted for others in which if he was given more screen space and made the movie about him would make a huge difference.
I can only blame the story writers who believed people won't be reviewing this movie seriously. They might have used dexter and recent psycho killer trends in Tamil movies to create a mallu version of thriller. An absolute waste of time.watch if you want to sleep sound.

The start of the movie was so epic it even looked on par or better than Anjaam Pathira but very disappointed after first 40 mins. The concept and theme was very interesting and had a good base story but I looked the writer/director ran out of ideas or tried too much after the start. Very disappointed how the 2nd half was done. Just feel like a typical Tovino movie where there is so much Potential but just doesn't live up to expectation through out the entire movie.
Forensic arrives post the success of another serial killer flick Anjaam Paathira (henceforth referred to as AP), albeit with a 'scientific' twist. The film, similar to AP, opens with an intriguing prologue. It serves the purpose of a mood-setter. While AP was slightly subtler in its approach, Forensic really gets in your face. You ought to know that grisly murders are on the way.
The writer-director duo Akhil Paul and Anas Khan concoct a serial killer plot with an interesting first half, briefly touching upon the possibilities of a child killer, the application of forensics to deconstruct crimes, and most importantly, a ravishing Tovino Thomas (playing Sam Kattookaran, a medico-legal advisor to the State Police). Sam is assisting Rithika Xavier IPS (an efficient Mamta Mohandas) in tracing the killer, but the writers make it clear from the start that Sam always gets the upper hand in unlocking clues.
It was indeed fun to see minor forensic flourishes in the film. These include Sam suggesting a lie detector test for a heart-patient suspect, the segment involving the inner (golden) foil of a Dairy Milk chocolate bar, the part where Sam deduces the killer's age and height using basic logic and by studying the crime scene, and an unnecessary but fun stretch where he explains acid-base reaction. Reba Monica John plays Shikha, the pretty and resourceful intern, who thankfully doesn't fall for Sam's crime-lab heroics.
There's a solid interval twist too, something you really wouldn't expect. I thought it was a lot better than the big reveal itself; one that's replete with a poorly acted, unconvincing back-story. We also get a subplot regarding Sam and Rithika's strange family history. It's easy for thriller buffs to conclude that this will have some connection to the present-day crimes. The final half-hour really blew it for me - it's a talkathon that tries to pack in the killer's reasoning, followed by a tacky action scene. In sharp contrast to this, there's a nicer action set-piece earlier on in the film involving Sam and a perpetrator.
In AP too, the origin story of the killer was one of its weaker elements. Why do the big reveals always seem okayish? We need more exciting core criminals for investigation thrillers like these. Jakes Bejoy's background score is jarring at certain points but effective otherwise. Sharper writing in the latter half (with a reduced focus on decoying twists) could really have changed the course of the film. The packaging falls short in Forensic and it ends up being just a middle-of-the-road effort.

FORENSIC ...
ACTING--SUPERB ACTING FROM THE CREW SOMETIMES EVEN IT FELT LIKE SOMETHING NATURAL.
CAMERA, DIRECTION, TECHNICALS--IT WAS ALSO AMAZING THE CAMERA WORKS WERE BRILLIANT AND THE BGM WAS HEART BREAKING.
STORY,SCREENPLAY--I AM SURE IT US A NEW RIDE FOR ALL BECAUSE IN EVERY MOVIE THE POLICE INVESTIGATION HAS ITS IMPORTANCE BUT HERE THEY HAVE MOSTLY GIVEN IMPORTANCE TO THE TITTLE AND THE MOVIE AND EVEN IN HOLLYWOOD THESE KIND OF MOVIE'S ARE RARE
EXPERIENCE--LIKE I SAID TECHNICAL Y THE MOVIE WAS PERFECT SAME WAY IT WAS A GOOD THRILLER THOUGH THE MOVIE HAD ITS GRIP IN THE AUDIENCE TILL THE FIRST HALF THE TWIST AND TURNS WERE AWESOME BUT WHEN COMMING TO THE SECOND HALF IT WILL NOT SATIFY US STILL IT HAS POTENTIAL BUT THE CLIMAX WAS SOMETHING PREDICTABLE AND DIDN'T SATISFY THE AUDIENCE.
"ANYWAY ONE TIME WATCHABLE GOOD THRILLER WITH MANY TWIST AND TURNS"

A well plotted points through out the story doesnt make you go off the track but at the same time its not a edge of a seat thriller since you tend to get the vibes at some places. For me i watched this after watching penguine and hence got the vibes in second half that ________ was the person behind the deaths. But must appreciate the team for showing us the forensic departments hardships after the crime to trace the case and form the links. This movie was a great learning and an interesting area to get to know about. Hero was very good with his performance, mamatha mohan das was good enough. That girl from bigil didnt had much to prove. Must mention the action scenes and the for those scenes in particular since they were fresh & real and we can relate to the physics like hero getting rid of rope which he was tied and the seat push back scene at the end etc brings the realistic action sequence and unique camera work. BGM was too monotonous after a point during the second. I felt like each suspect had a different bgm then it would have been a better idea.

A good movie to watch, even though the movie will take us to thrilling part but when the movie gets to climax it kinda gets different flow than what we had in the starting, which was way better.

Had potential, but the writer didn't know when to stop with the twists. In the end it just turned out to be a groan worthy movie where you give up following the story and just wait for the final reveal.
What worked:
- the movie as a whole binds together many of the curiosities and questions that is set at the beginning half of the movie. The story is fresh, meaning the participation of a child in a serial killing narrative. Movie, at times , is disturbing but it serves to the narrative of the movie. It's a disturbing but overall a satisfying watch. It's a well directed and executed movie overall.
- plot twists; the movie which could have been a much better result overall is marred by the complications and twists in the story several times in the movie. I would say if the makers had put more input to overall execution rather than the twists and turns in the story, it would have been a much better movie. To me, the lead actor could not convey his character to the potential.
- subplots; if it was me I would have taken away the subplots from the movie; revenge story, love stories and more. These elements over complicated the movie instead of supporting the narrative.

Good Movie. Everybody acted well in the movie. Songs were not needed in the movie. BGM in the movie was good. The movie was not so interesting and thrilling at 1st half. The movie was so interesting and thrilling at 2nd half. Good Movie.

- This is a whodunnit movie, so won't be able to write much as it might be spoilers.
- I have seen a lot of whodunnit movies, so felt this one as just an average movie. The direction and bgm is good and film kept engaging till first half. Second half isn't that great.
- Final Verdict: One time watchable whodunnit

The movie has quiet interesting plot and keeps the audience engaged till the first half. It could have been much better movie with better screenplay and acting. Later the movie starts to jump randomly and screenplay becomes choppy. Scenes look forced and illogical. The investigation leaves lot of loop holes and the movie drags and ends in a uninteresting way.
