It feels like going back in time 40 years and watching Dynasty again. They could have come up with something more original than that. I hope that they are not going to produce so many episodes.
I have watched a few good movies based o the 'cellular memory' concept. This is not one of them, it just uses the theme to fuel a lackluster soap opera.

I was really looking forward to seeing this. After the first episode I looked on imdb and didn't see many positive reviews.
I'm glad I made up my own mind. It's not the best show but it was enough to keep me in for 10 episodes.

Why can't actors loosen up and at least attempt to achieve life like credibility? Is it the mediocre script ? Poor direction? Fear of failure? Perfunctory , ho hum performances in episode 1 make me fear the worst for the rest of the season . The repetitive use of glamorous backgrounds of the wealthy becomes boring. OK they're rich, we get it. They do this genre so much better in UK and US. My sock draw is calling me , it needs rearranging , I have a date with it. Sunday night.

Hermione Norris must have wanted an expenses paid holiday. She is so much better than this C Grade rubbish. As for whatsername who plays Georgia, I've rarely seen anyone so lacking in basic acting skills. Dumb plot, lousy acting and stretched out for 10 episodes for pity's sake. If this is the best Australian TV can come up with, I'll stick to UK and US productions.

I hope 1 journalist's review does not stop this series. Love the actors and locations. It can grow to a real story if allowed to continue. Overseas reviews seem much more positive..we have had nothing since A Place to call Home, so this should be given a go....When is series 2 coming? Not fair to leave watchers in the lurch with an unfinished story....Come on Channel 7.... tell us what is happening please?
As an Australian I've seen way too many Australian drama series.
What they have in common is they all are produced as if they are soap operas. The dialogue is over dramatic and stilted, every item of clothing is brand new and perfectly pressed, the people are all beautiful as are their homes. Every show is the same plastic wrapped sterile effort.
Compare this to British shows where actors are sought that look the role, from drug addicts to peers of the realm. They talk like real people and react like real people.
If you're into soap operas you'll probably enjoy this show, if not look for something else to occupy your time.

The idea or storyline of this show sounds interesting and promising. I've watched 4 episodes now and find the whole show woeful.
The characters and their dialogue are very "over the top" stereotypical and no where near to seeming vaguely like real people.
The acting by most of the cast is wooden. I was surprised to see Hermione Norris in this at all, seems she has come a long way down from the Wire In The Blood series.
A special mention to the actress who plays Georgia Konig; her acting has to be the worst, most wooden of the lot! I could do better although I certainly wouldn't look as good which is the only reason I can see that she got the part!
I was tempted to give up after episode 1 but the show is a bit like a car crash that you want to see but wish you didn't.

Is this going to get the axe before it's given a chance.
I'm usually not a fan of Aussie productions but put a Bevan Lee script with Hermoine Norris together and you have my interest.
Yes it's a slow burn as little by little each character's story is revealed.
I hung in until the cliffhanger at the End of Episode 10 just and hope more layers will be peeled back in Season 2

Atrocious show - watched the first episode and despite my initial disappointment, thought I would give the next episode a go. This was a bad idea as I could not get through the second episode and turned it off. Felt like I was watching two totally different shows, I suspect the characters will all run into each other somewhere down the track, but not interested enough to persevere. Wooden performances and mostly unlikeable characters abound, not sure how Hermione Norris got herself involved in this shemozzle.

Vacuous and unwatchable. Overreacting matched by substandard script. Wont bother with Episode 2.

I have to admit that I found the first few episodes too slow and was on the verge of turning it off but was glad that I stuck with it.
It's one of those shows that builds and builds.
I think though that if the number of episodes had of been reduced from ten to six or seven it would have made it tighter.
Yes, some of the acting is a little wooden at times but the performance of
Philip Quast is exceptional and more than makes up for it.
The amount of cliff hangers at the end of series one suggests that there will be a second series and hopefully that will be the case.
I'm not familiar with the creator's other work, but gave this a chance based on his reputation and the general lack of new programming right now. But wow is this terrible. The episodes drag on with very little plot movement, character motivations change on a whim, and all of the characters are insufferable idiots. No wonder the network is burying this in a late time slot and burning off the episodes by airing two at a time. They should be embarrassed they ever even greenlit this mess.

Great cast, actually pretty decent plot- yes the first episode is slow, but it grows on you over time.
Make a decent drama Sydney? Too busy looking at the harbor. (As can be seen) I watched about half of the first episode and then gave up, not just because of the background but as others have said the stiff acting. It just doesn't sit right.

I could only stomach 1.5 episodes as I wanted to give this a chance. It was as awful as a cheesy US daytime soap. Trying to be sexy, deep and stirring when it was in fact eye rolling and hard not to laugh at.
Do not waste your time.

The first episode was like pulling teeth. And the worst part of it all? They killed off the one character with any potential - the footballer - in the first episode. The actors who could act, tried desperately to give the script some meaning and the actors couldn't act (eg: model girlfriend who acts like every scene is a bedroom scene), proved that the script really had no meaning. I couldn't connect with any of the characters. Also there was only one drawn out tone - everyone was bored, or boring. However, thinking that I was too harsh, and, because Channel 7 have produced good drama in the past, I foolishly returned for a second episode. Big mistake. Twenty minutes later, I had to switch channels.
Recommendation: Avoid, avoid avoid.
Sort of sucked me in....in all honesty a complete waste of tme, only watched because NSW Sydney.
I really enjoyed this Australian drama so very disappointed there will be no second series as it was just starting to get interesting. I was hoping that Georgia would be killed off because I felt she was the main character that didn't seem to be developing, didn't like the body guard either. I didn't have a problem with any of the others.
... normally wouldn't watch a production knowing it had been cancelled after its first season... but this show had several actors whose work I've always admired very much... believe this show was victim of a quick-plug-pulling... because after a couple shaky episodes it found its footing, getting better each-every-time... it's not perfect, yet it is entertaining... unfortunately falling to a poor-decision poor-decision.
I have had to watch this on 7plus as it was on late on a Sunday night. My husband and I just love this show (and he is not into tv series). The story line is really great and of course the final episode has left us in suspense. Fingers crossed there is a Season 2 it is getting really interesting.
