Well, sometimes you just got to take heed of a low rating on IMDb. But still, I do give movies that I haven't already seen a fair chance and sit down to watch it. Sometimes there are movies that are actually enjoyable enough out there, despite of low ratings.
But the 2020 movie "Don't Click" wasn't one such movie. No, Sir, this here was just downright bland and mundane.
And it didn't really help to impress me that the movie's storyline was so far out there that it was just hard to buy into the movie and take it seriously. I am sure that the script sounded good enough on paper. But the transition to the screen just wasn't all that grand.
Perhaps if you are just starting out on your journey down the horror lane, then a movie such as "Don't Click" from writer Courtney Ellum and director G-Hey Kim has something enjoyable enough to offer. But for a seasoned horror veteran such as myself, then this movie was just a swing and a miss.
It should be said that the acting in the movie was actually good enough, taking into consideration the limitations imposed upon the actors and actresses given the lack of a properly thought through script and storyline.
Visually then "Don't Click" just wasn't noteworthy. The special effects - whatever little there were - were adequate. But it was not something that made my day, much less impress me.
It was the storyline that killed off "Don't Click" for me, short and simple.
My rating of "Don't Click" land on a generous three out of ten stars. As the movie indicates, don't click (that play button)...

Bloody awful the story had so many pot holes it didn't make sense, it was a train wreck. Don't click should be renamed Don't watch !!!!!!!!! I can't believe I watch it till the end expecting a miracle and all I got was time I can't get back 😟
The premise had potential. Unfortunately between rubbish writing, questionable creative decisions, poor flow and some less than stellar acting, this film was a complete waste of everyone's effort. They really tried to make it creepy, but it wasn't, and the pace was just too slow for anything to really click. Don't bother, honestly. Such a boring film.
The film has neither an interesting story nor a useful resolution.
Don't click had an interesting idea, but the execution was boring nonsense with interspersed snuff scenes.
There are far better things to pass the time, like watching paint dry.
