The "In Loving Memory" people mentioned in the film's credits is John Hollaway's (Executive Producer) grandfather who passed away during the second day of filming and his cousin who was killed two days before shooting ended. During post-production he would also lose his father, grandmother, and longtime friend since his childhood.
Although the film was not written by John Hollaway, it was a concept he came up with as a class project when he decided to attend film school in his early 40's to earn a degree in entertainment business. After receiving a perfect grade on the concept, he reached out to alumni and friends to pull the project together.
