Witness Wife

On a lonely rural field, a farmer spots a body being dumped from a road. So he contacts you know who. Already Mathews and the Patrol are looking for the two culprits, so the cops don't have far to go. It's cat and mouse along the dirt roads as the killers try to find the witness before the Patrol finds them. Meanwhile, Mathews gets to bark out more than his usual number of orders as he directs the pursuit.

I don't think we find out what the original crime was that led to the body dump. Anyhow, it's a fast moving episode, with some of the ugliest scrublands in the LA area. Also, I'd like to know what the farmer's raising on that parched land. But the farmhouse looks like a real one and none too prosperous, about like the skinny farmer and his dowdy wife. Good thing they're also gutsy as heck. It's also good that the series refuses to glamorize anything in this back roads drama. All in all, it's a worthy one for the series.
