The story was written at Northwestern University for a screenwriting class (1996). The script was then entered into the Chicago CineStory Screenwriting competition, and made quarter-finalist (1997).

Goofs
The story takes place in the late 1980's. When Heather the receptionist states she can't give out health information, she refers to the HIPAA law. This privacy rule wasn't enacted until 1996.
