In the genre of first-person shooters, the Far Cry franchise has established itself as a mainstay. This long-running series has regularly released games, DLCs, and spinoffs since 2004; Far Cry 6 was released in 2021. Far Cry 7, the franchise’s deserving successor, is also reportedly in works.

Far Cry 7 has not yet been confirmed by Ubisoft. According to earlier reports, the upcoming game (codenamed Blackbird) is being developed in tandem with a Far Cry multiplayer game, which is presently being developed as an extraction-based shooter codenamed Maverick. We haven’t yet got any details about the game, but if it ever needs inspiration, then the best bet should be the most underrated game of the franchise.

Composer Tyler Bates has been sued for allegedly pilfering a singer and former collaborator’s voice on productions he scored.
Azam Ali, in a lawsuit filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges Bates created a “digital replica” of her voice, which was used on new projects, including Cartoon Network’s animated series Primal, without consent or compensation to the singer.
Ali’s voice has appeared on scores for major studios films, including Thor: The Dark World, The Matrix: Revolutions and Fight Club. She met Bates in 2001, when he was looking for a vocalist to assist him on scoring the soundtrack to Night at the Golden Eagle. The pair went on to collaborate on Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Doomsday.
Last year, Ali claims she was contacted by a fan congratulating her for appearing on a soundtrack to an unnamed production scored by Bates. When she reached out to the composer,...

Primal season 3 is the next chapter in Genndy Tartakovsky's animated epic and there's been some exciting updates about the upcoming season. Another one of Genndy Tartakovsky's beautifully animated productions, Primal, is an Adult Swim series set in an anachronistic and semi-fantastical version of prehistory where Tyrannosaurus Rexes live alongside Neanderthals. The two-season series follows one of these Neanderthals, the brutally strong and silent Spear, and his constant, and equally silent companion, Fang, a vicious T. rex. The pair form an unlikely bond and fight their way through beasts, monsters, and men to find a home.
Nearly a wordless series, Primal tells its story through gorgeous animation, incredible sound design, a transporting atmosphere, and some truly moving characters who each have their own motivations and histories. Season 1 premiered on Adult Swim in October 2019 and has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Season 2 premiered in July 2022. It also has a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes...

Cartoons don't necessarily have to be lighthearted, with some shockingly dark animation proving the medium's potential for telling poignant stories. For a long time, animation was commonly thought of as fodder for kids, with Saturday morning cartoons of the 80s being the norm for the genre. However, in the modern age, animation has truly branched out to include all kinds of stories, with some of the darker animated shows touching on some incredibly sensitive topics.
In many cases, adult animation can wear a colorful exterior, with zany jokes and characters that betray the true depth that lies beneath. But it's just as often that shows aimed at young adults or even children have begun to broach difficult emotional storylines, with even the likes of Bluey featuring adult-oriented episodes. In many respects, animation is actually better for weaving narratives that take a look at serious themes, tastefully rendering them without the limitations of live-action TV production.

Genndy Tartakovsky is one of the most acclaimed animators of all time, with him being the mind behind Dexter's Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Primal, and more. Many of Tartakovsky's most acclaimed projects can be found on Cartoon Network and Adult Swim, but his Warner Bros. projects are far from all he has done. On top of his critically acclaimed shows, Genndy Tartakovsky is also the mind behind the Hotel Transylvania movie series, highlighting his range and animation prowess.
Although Genndy Tartakovsky may have made a name for himself with his popular Cartoon Network shows, he is still making projects to this day on a variety of different networks. On top of Primal, Tartakovsky was also behind Max's Unicorn: Warriors Eternal, as well as the upcoming movie Fixed. Tartakovsky is one of the most accomplished animators who is still working today, with him having learned a lot throughout his career.

In the world of modern adult animation, one of the names you hear the most is Genndy Tartakovsky. While initially starting out making cartoons for younger audiences, such as Dexter’s Laboratory on Cartoon Network, he began to explore more mature forms of storytelling with later series, such as Samurai Jack and Sym-Bionic Titan, until eventually doing more exclusively adult-oriented work, such as Primal and Unicorn: Warriors Eternal.
But one other series the director is known for is the Star Wars: Clone Wars animated mini series, which ran on Cartoon Network from 2003 – 2005. It was the first piece of animated media to show that era of the franchise before its successor series in 2008. This was all before Star Wars was acquired by Disney, of course.
However, he revealed that he pitched another animated series to another company, one that would also eventually fall under the Disney umbrella.

As the franchise eyes multiple new directions to proceed, Ron Perlman opens up about the future for Transformers: Rise of the Beasts' Optimus Primal. Perlman debuted as the leader of the Maximal race of Transformers in the 2023 movie, which was the second in the prequel timeline following Bumblebee and saw the Autobots teaming with the Maximals to prevent the villainous Terrorcons from getting their hands on a key that can open a wormhole for Unicron to destroy Earth. Though underperforming critically and commercially, Paramount is moving forward with multiple new Transformers movies, including a sequel to Rise of the Beasts.

Movies based on animated series have a 50-50 chance of succeeding. The added pressure of a pre-established fanbase can either make or break the project. Genndy Tartakovsky is a legend in the animated world, with gems like Hotel Transylvania, Primal, Dexter’s Laboratory, and many more.
The Samurai Jack animated series which was released in 2001 became exponentially famous. However, most fans aren’t aware that there was once a live-action movie planned for the beloved series. One of the most famous faces in Hollywood, J.J. Abrams was approached to take on the task, but it unfortunately didn’t work out. Given the chance of the movie being planned again, action star Hiroyuki Sanada would be the best choice for the role.

After Blood of Zeus decided to adapt Greek Mythology with a completely new twist, its take on Norse Mythology seems like it’s treading familiar ground, perhaps taking inspiration from a few popular video games, or so the plot of the show suggests.

Twilight of the Gods is the latest offering by Zack Snyder, following a young woman on a quest for revenge against the gods, specifically, Thor. However, there seems to be a little more to the story that might be becoming a familiar trope for Zack Snyder’s works.

As fans eagerly await the announcement of Far Cry 7, speculation is rife about what new features and gameplay mechanics Ubisoft might introduce to keep the long-running series fresh and exciting.
While recent rumors have hinted at some intriguing changes that will, hopefully, work to reduce the series’ recent reputation for repetition, there’s one bold decision from a previous entry in the franchise that deserves a second look.

Fixed is back on the prowl following Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to drop the completed film.
The animated movie from director and co-writer Genndy Tartakovsky is no longer getting a release from Wbd, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. A co-production between Sony Pictures Animation and New Line, the feature was set up by the AT&T-owned WarnerMedia before the 2022 merger that led to David Zaslav running Wbd. Fixed was initially planned for release on the streaming service that was then known as HBO Max.
Wbd worked with Fixed’s team to cover production costs and enable the filmmakers to find an alternate buyer. Rights for Fixed have reverted to producer Sony, which is shopping the project.
Fixed features the voice talents of Adam DeVine, Idris Elba, Kathryn Hahn, Fred Armisen, Bobby Moynihan and Beck Bennett. The adult-focused animated film centers on Bull (DeVine), a bloodhound who decides to embrace...

Warner Bros. is snipping Genndy Tartakovsky‘s animated feature, Fixed, as part of a cost-cutting measure, as the studio has been doing recently. While WB is known for shelving projects fans want to see, the decision to scrap Tartakovsky’s Fixed is baffling. Tartakovsky is by many measures one of Cartoon Network’s premiere contributors, with hits like Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, Star Wars: Clone Wars, and Primal to his name. Tartakovsky is also one of the driving forces behind the Hotel Transylvania film series, which has done well for Sony with four films of varying success in the franchise.

Warner Bros./New Line is no longer releasing Sony Pictures Animation’s “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy from writer/director Genndy Tartakovsky, Variety has learned. The distribution rights are back with Sony Pictures Animation, which is looking at a new distribution plan for the film.
Warner Bros. Discovery dropping a Tartakovsky animated title is shocking, as he is probably the biggest star to come from the company’s Cartoon Network system and was integral in its early and long-term success, having created “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Samurai Jack,” “Star Wars: Clone Wars,” and “Primal.” He also produced “The Powerpuff Girls.” In 2022, Tartakovsky signed an exclusive, multi-year, cross-studio overall deal with Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.
He has also been a significant figure for Sony. The first three “Hotel Transylvania” films, all directed by Tartakovsky and produced by the company, have grossed $1.38 billion globally.

The Emmys often gravitate towards established favorites in their nominations for Best Animated Program, as evidenced by the constant recognition of 35-year-old stalwart “The Simpsons,” which won for the 12th time in 2023. It can be a challenge for new shows to get on voters’ radar. But when they do break through with hard-fought nominations, in recent years the academy has been drawn to the shiny new objects. Perhaps that’s why this year’s front-runners, according to our early racetrack odds, are first-time nominees “X-Men ’97” (for the episode “Remember It”) and “Blue Eye Samurai” (for the episode “The Tale of the Ronin and the Bride”).

Hit-Monkey continues to walk the vigilante path less traveled. While other heroes trade banter in slick suits, this show honors the violent grit pioneered by films like Oldboy and martial arts classics like Drunken Master. Dark humor cuts through the carnage, recalling Tarantino at his pitch-black best.
Season 2 delves deeper into what fuels a life of violence. Monkey confronts his own “family business” legacy through a crisis of conscience glimpsed in similarly nihilistic animation like Primal. Bryce’s redemption arc nods to fallen antiheroes from The Dark Knight to Breaking Bad. New characters like Eunice bring levity, further separating this show from the gleaming MCU while expanding representation in the genre.

The adult animation boom seen over the last few decades has produced some of modern television’s most exciting series. “BoJack Horseman,” “Archer,” “Primal,” “Rick and Morty,“ “Tuca & Bertie,” “Blue Eye Samurai,” and even “X-Men ’97” (just to name a few) all used their limitless medium to push serialized storytelling in new directions. But peak TV also created a slew of exhausting, unimaginative copycats — cheap knockoffs of popular and/or innovative shows that operated under the principle that all they had to do to get laughs was make cartoon characters curse about pop culture. Blame “South Park” for amplifying the shock value of “Kids Say the Darnedest Things” or “Family Guy” for tricking a generation of teens into thinking random movie references were the pinnacle of comedy writing. Either way, you end up here, with a bunch of aimless animated programs served up to subscribers whenever they finish bingeing “American Dad.

Far Cry is one of the most popular video game franchises ever. Despite not being connected, games from the franchise have similar themes; there are elements of resistance, wildlife, and a vast open world.

Animated TV shows offer unique advantages in showcasing dinosaurs, with diverse styles and tones beyond Jurassic Park. Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous and Chaos Theory expand the franchise with star-studded casts and original premises. DinoSquad, Primal, and other dinosaur-centric series offer engaging stories, entertaining morals, and creative takes on prehistoric life.
Jurassic Park may be the most famous dinosaur property around, but it's far from the only game in town when it comes to animated TV shows with a focus on dinosaurs. Animation has some big advantages when it comes to depicting the dinosaurs that Jurassic Park made famous, not being limited by live-action props, expensive photorealistic CGI, or integration with real actors. While the Jurassic Park series has utterly dominated the movie industry when it comes to dinosaurs, animated TV presents of few competitors.

Annecy, France — Michael Ouweleen, president of Cartoon Network, Boomerang and Adult Swim, a major force behind the rise of adult animation, has signalled at Annecy the company’s intention to ramp up its presence in Europe and international markets at large.
“We very much want to see Adult Swim originals coming from anywhere in the world,” Ouweleen told Variety at the French festival.
The stars are aligning for the overseas drive.
In the U.S., Adult Swim is on a roll. In the fourth quarter of 2023, Adult Swim saw greater primetime growth among 18-49s than any other major cable network. It bowed the top three new animated series on cable in 2023: “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” “My Adventures with Superman” and “Royal Crackers,” Cartoon Brew noted.
As Ouweleen enthused at an Adult Animation Annecy panel on Friday, he added, “the distribution of adult animation just this week got better.” On June 11, Max,...

Annecy, France — Five-time Emmy Award winner Genndy Tartakovsky, creator of “Samurai Jack” and “Primal,” is developing “Heist Safari,” a 10-episode comedic robbery that will have the feel of a musical, Tartakovsky said.
The robbers are three brother frogs, control freak James, neurotic Issac, and little George, who thinks he’s brilliant but is actually totally not. Estranged, they meet up at their father’s funeral, where they are informed that they will only inherit his fortune if they pull off a bank heist, stealing the contents of a bank’s vault numbered 88.
Trouble comes when all three cut side deals for help in the form of a Japanese yakuza tiger, a Russian mafia hippo and an Italian gorilla mobster. The police are wildebeests.
Every episode is executed as just one shot and they will not be told in chronological order. The whole has an Edm score, said Tartakovsky.

Mark Andrews, director of Pixar’s Academy Award winning animated feature “Brave” and a writer on Genndy Tartakovsky’s “Primal” and “Samurai Jack,” is attached as the showrunner of animated series “Kyōryū,” about samurai dinosaurs living in a postapocalyptic Japan.
In development at Wellington, New Zealand-based Floating Rock, an animation and VFX studio, “Kyōryū” is set in Japan in a future where dinosaurs have outlasted humanity. Genetically engineered, they are far more intelligent than their pre-historic ancestors. That said, atavistic instincts can flare, making for tribal wars.
Unveiled last September, the “Kyōryū” proof-of-concept trailer went viral, with 1 million views in its first 10 days of release, now 2.1 million views to date on YouTube, and an estimated reach of over a million.
The trailer also attracted Andrews. “‘Dinosaurs in postapocalyptic Japan?’ I want to see that show without even knowing what the story’s about! We’re going to give the audience...

In Fallout 76, the only way to acquire Prime Meat is through a seasonal event known as Meat Week. The event has run once or twice a year since its inception in 2019, making it a fairly limited-time offering. Moreover, players who take advantage of this event will receive a fair amount of good loot by utilizing their Prime Meat well.
Some of the best events in Fallout 76 allow players to fight aliens or summon a Wise Mothman. These events usually give good rewards and Xp bonuses as well, making them more tempting to participate it. The Meat Week event allows players to help Grahm with some tasks as well as gain a fair amount of legendary loot.

Genndy Tartakovsky doesn’t need to be told twice when it comes to animation. The medium of art is his second language and passion and the limits of all his artistic views and bottomless ambitions are contained within the constantly evolving stream. To make light of his work in the medium is to make light of his entire identity and his life’s work.

Genndy Tartakovsky's 2001 animated series "Samurai Jack" is probably one of the best of its era. The series boasted a peculiar and stoic tone, with the title hero (Phil Lamarr) staying quiet for vast blocks of the show. Samurai Jack was lost in the distant future, thanks to the sorcery of a tricky trickster god named Aku, and a lot of the series was devoted to Jack's exploration of strange, new alien settings. "Samurai Jack." also featured a unique, neo-cubist aesthetic; characters didn't have black-line outlines, and backgrounds were often abstract and blocky. Fans will also hasten to add the overwhelmingly awesome action of "Samurai Jack." If one is animating with blocky shapes and abstract backgrounds, the action can be just as stylized. The fight scenes on "Samurai Jack" are the stuff of legend.
"Samurai Jack" ran until 2004, and there had long been plans to adapt the series into a live-action feature film.

He told Deadline that he expects there to be a comedy “boom” in the coming years. “People are realizing comedy is evergreen and people want to laugh, especially in times of trying and I think it’s all cyclical. It’s going to be coming back and have a big boom over the next couple of years,” he said.
He predicted buyers will lean more towards comedy, which is inherently cheaper to produce than drama as they get “more bang for their buck”.

TheWrap spoke to Tartakovsky about what it was like shaping the second season of the series, how he came up with “Shadow of Fate” and what the future for both “Primal” and his other animated series from this year, “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” will hold.
When you started out doing “Primal,” did you think of it as two seasons,...

Following the announcement of the 2023 Emmy nominations, former Best Animated Program odds leader “The Simpsons” swiftly dropped to second place behind “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal,” which a significant majority of users now predict will be lauded for its second season after winning for its first in 2021. As it fends off “The Simpsons,” which remains strong in its fight for its 12th victory, it also faces two more past winners and a new show from Netflix, which produced last year’s victor.
Since reigning champ “Arcane” has yet to return for a second season, Netflix’s hopes of conquering this category again lie with “Entergalactic,” the first stand-alone special to compete for this award since 2017. Rounding out the lineup are “Bob’s Burgers” and “Rick and Morty,” each of which has already taken the prize twice.
In order to make sense of this tight race, let’s take a closer look at each nominee.

HBO’s “The Last of Us,” the acclaimed dystopian survival drama from showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, led all Emmys craft categories July 12 with 12 (the first TV Academy recognition for a live-action video game adaptation). Right behind was the streamer’s “The White Lotus” with 11 nominations. Mike White’s vacationing social satire relocated to Sicily and now competes for Best Drama Series after winning Best Anthology/Limited Series for its first season.
“The Mandalorian” followed with nine nominations, a sharp falloff for Season 3 after the Disney+ “Star Wars” juggernaut dominated its first two seasons with 15 and 17 noms, respectively. Also sharing nine noms were Netflix’s popular “Addams Family” spin-off “Wednesday” and the final seasons of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Prime) and “Ted Lasso” (Apple TV+), both up from the previous season.

The one-off program has scored an Emmy nomination Outstanding Animated Program, where it will compete against Bob’s Burgers, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, Rick And Morty and The Simpsons.

It also features the voices of Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Jaden Smith and Macauley Culkin. The series is produced by Mad Solar, Khalabo Ink Society and Edelgang.

Michael Imperioli is taking a stand against “bigots and homophobes” and doesn’t want him to watch his work. The actor’s comments come after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled that a web designer could refuse to provide services for same-sex weddings.
“I’ve decided to forbid bigots and homophobes from watching The Sopranos, The White Lotus, Goodfellas or any movie or tv show I’ve been in,” he posted on Instagram. “Thank you Supreme Court for allowing me to discriminate and exclude those who I don’t agree with and am opposed to. USA! USA!”
Imperioli would add replies to his post furthering his stance saying “hate and ignorance is not a legitimate point of view” and adding that the ruling is dehumanizing.
“America is becoming dumber by the minute,” he also replied.
