In the genre of first-person shooters, the Far Cry franchise has established itself as a mainstay. This long-running series has regularly released games, DLCs, and spinoffs since 2004; Far Cry 6 was released in 2021. Far Cry 7, the franchise’s deserving successor, is also reportedly in works.

Far Cry 7 has not yet been confirmed by Ubisoft. According to earlier reports, the upcoming game (codenamed Blackbird) is being developed in tandem with a Far Cry multiplayer game, which is presently being developed as an extraction-based shooter codenamed Maverick. We haven’t yet got any details about the game, but if it ever needs inspiration, then the best bet should be the most underrated game of the franchise.

When Far Cry Primal was released in 2016, it didn’t exactly make headlines.

Composer Tyler Bates has been sued for allegedly pilfering a singer and former collaborator’s voice on productions he scored.

Azam Ali, in a lawsuit filed on Thursday in Los Angeles Superior Court, alleges Bates created a “digital replica” of her voice, which was used on new projects, including Cartoon Network’s animated series Primal, without consent or compensation to the singer.

Ali’s voice has appeared on scores for major studios films, including Thor: The Dark World, The Matrix: Revolutions and Fight Club. She met Bates in 2001, when he was looking for a vocalist to assist him on scoring the soundtrack to Night at the Golden Eagle. The pair went on to collaborate on Dawn of the Dead, 300 and Doomsday.

Cartoons don't necessarily have to be lighthearted, with some shockingly dark animation proving the medium's potential for telling poignant stories. For a long time, animation was commonly thought of as fodder for kids, with Saturday morning cartoons of the 80s being the norm for the genre. Fixed is back on the prowl following Warner Bros. Discovery’s decision to drop the completed film.

The animated movie from director and co-writer Genndy Tartakovsky is no longer getting a release from Wbd, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. A co-production between Sony Pictures Animation and New Line, the feature was set up by the AT&T-owned WarnerMedia before the 2022 merger that led to David Zaslav running Wbd. Fixed was initially planned for release on the streaming service that was then known as HBO Max.

Wbd worked with Fixed’s team to cover production costs and enable the filmmakers to find an alternate buyer. Rights for Fixed have reverted to producer Sony, which is shopping the project.

Warner Bros./New Line is no longer releasing Sony Pictures Animation’s “Fixed,” an adult animated comedy from writer/director Genndy Tartakovsky, Variety has learned. The distribution rights are back with Sony Pictures Animation, which is looking at a new distribution plan for the film.

Warner Bros. Discovery dropping a Tartakovsky animated title is shocking, as he is probably the biggest star to come from the company’s Cartoon Network system and was integral in its early and long-term success, having created “Dexter’s Laboratory,” “Samurai Jack,” “Star Wars: Clone Wars,” and “Primal.” He also produced “The Powerpuff Girls.” In 2022, Tartakovsky signed an exclusive, multi-year, cross-studio overall deal with Cartoon Network Studios and Warner Bros. Animation.

He has also been a significant figure for Sony. The first three “Hotel Transylvania” films, all directed by Tartakovsky and produced by the company, have grossed $1.38 billion globally.

In development at Wellington, New Zealand-based Floating Rock, an animation and VFX studio, “Kyōryū” is set in Japan in a future where dinosaurs have outlasted humanity. Genndy Tartakovsky's 2001 animated series "Samurai Jack" is probably one of the best of its era. The series boasted a peculiar and stoic tone, with the title hero (Phil Lamarr) staying quiet for vast blocks of the show. Samurai Jack was lost in the distant future, thanks to the sorcery of a tricky trickster god named Aku, and a lot of the series was devoted to Jack's exploration of strange, new alien settings. "Samurai Jack." also featured a unique, neo-cubist aesthetic; characters didn't have black-line outlines, and backgrounds were often abstract and blocky. Fans will also hasten to add the overwhelmingly awesome action of "Samurai Jack." If one is animating with blocky shapes and abstract backgrounds, the action can be just as stylized. The fight scenes on "Samurai Jack" are the stuff of legend. 

"Samurai Jack" ran until 2004, and there had long been plans to adapt the series into a live-action feature film.

Exclusive: Animation outfit Toonz Media Group has acquired rights to make a feature adaptation of the children’s book Santa on a Panda written by Parker Jacobs (Yo Gabba Gabba) of the Dumb Idea Group with Multi-Emmy Award-Winner Brian A. Miller signed on to produce.

Based on the children’s book and song, Santa on a Panda will be produced by Toonz Media Group. The synopsis reads: With all of Santa’s reindeer missing and Mrs Claus on a one-woman mission to find them before Christmas Eve, Santa must work against all odds and join up with his most extraordinary friend, a flying Panda. Will they make it in time to save Christmas?

After the first season of the show won five Emmys, including Outstanding Animated Program, it’s back in the mix this year, once again vying for the Outstanding Animated Program award.

The nominated episode, “Shadow of Fate,” is a breathtaking tale that splits up our heroes — human Spear and dinosaur Fang. Fang falls in love with another dinosaur (Red), but has to make the heartbreaking decision of whether to try and find a new life with this dinosaur or to stick with her human.

TheWrap spoke to Tartakovsky about what it was like shaping the second season of the series, how he came up with “Shadow of Fate” and what the future for both “Primal” and his other animated series from this year, “Unicorn: Warriors Eternal,” will hold.

Following the announcement of the 2023 Emmy nominations, former Best Animated Program odds leader “The Simpsons” swiftly dropped to second place behind “Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal,” which a significant majority of users now predict will be lauded for its second season after winning for its first in 2021. As it fends off “The Simpsons,” which remains strong in its fight for its 12th victory, it also faces two more past winners and a new show from Netflix, which produced last year’s victor.

Since reigning champ “Arcane” has yet to return for a second season, Netflix’s hopes of conquering this category again lie with “Entergalactic,” the first stand-alone special to compete for this award since 2017. Rounding out the lineup are “Bob’s Burgers” and “Rick and Morty,” each of which has already taken the prize twice.

In order to make sense of this tight race, let’s take a closer look at each nominee.

HBO’s “The Last of Us,” the acclaimed dystopian survival drama from showrunners Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, led all Emmys craft categories July 12 with 12 (the first TV Academy recognition for a live-action video game adaptation). Right behind was the streamer’s “The White Lotus” with 11 nominations. Mike White’s vacationing social satire relocated to Sicily and now competes for Best Drama Series after winning Best Anthology/Limited Series for its first season.

“The Mandalorian” followed with nine nominations, a sharp falloff for Season 3 after the Disney+ “Star Wars” juggernaut dominated its first two seasons with 15 and 17 noms, respectively. Also sharing nine noms were Netflix’s popular “Addams Family” spin-off “Wednesday” and the final seasons of “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” (Prime) and “Ted Lasso” (Apple TV+), both up from the previous season.

Entergalactic, the animated special from Kid Cudi that served as an accompaniment to his album, is battling for an Emmy.

The one-off program has scored an Emmy nomination Outstanding Animated Program, where it will compete against Bob’s Burgers, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, Rick And Morty and The Simpsons.

It comes after Netflix pulled off a surprise win last year for Arcane, based on the video game, which became the first streaming series to win in the category.

Entergalactic was created by Kid Cudi, who voices Jabari, a charming, streetwear clad artist on the cusp of success. After a chance run-in with his cool new photographer neighbor, Meadow, voiced by Jessica Williams, Jabari has to figure out whether he can make space for love in his life.

It also features the voices of Timothée Chalamet, Vanessa Hudgens, Jaden Smith and Macauley Culkin. The series is produced by Mad Solar, Khalabo Ink Society and Edelgang.

The nominations for the 2023 Emmy Awards were announced on Wednesday.

Leading the pack is HBO’s acclaimed drama “Succession”, which received 27 nominations for its recently aired fourth and final season, including nominations for Drama Series, multiple nominations in the actor, actress and supporting categories and more.

Other show’s vying for the Drama Series prize include “Andor”, “Better Call Saul”, “The Crown”, “House of the Dragon” and “Yellowjackets”.

Apple TV+’s hit comedy “Ted Lasso” earned 21 nominations, including for Comedy Series, as well as Lead Actor for Jason Sudeikis.

The Comedy Series race also includes “Abbott Elementary”, “Barry”, The Bear”, “Jury Duty”, “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel”, “Only Murders in the Building” and “Wednesday.

Imperioli would add replies to his post furthering his stance saying “hate and ignorance is not a legitimate point of view” and adding that the ruling is dehumanizing.
