Enjoyed the film from beginning to end. Made again to realize, how simple life really is. Some funny situations, some sadness, lot of heartiness and positive feelings.

I had no clue what this movie was going to be about. As soon as I started watching, I immediately got hooked. While we, mortal humans, loose our innocence as children and later on in life, we get so assimilated into the human drama that we shut our hearts for what is really worth living, some human angels appear in our life to remind us that there's beauty everywhere and if we are patient, we will witness that after bad things, good things always happen!
I was fortunate enough to stumbled upon the 2019 Taiwanese romantic drama titled "A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool" here in 2023. And I have to admit that the movie's synopsis made me want to watch the movie right away. There was just something alluring to the movie's synopsis.
And now that I have just watched the movie, I must say that this is a must-watch movie. Especially so if you enjoy Asian dramas. The storyline, as written by Mag Hsu, Wan-Jung Lee and Chun-Yu Wu, was really good, well-written and heartfelt. I was genuinely entertained by this movie throughout the course of the 95 minutes that it ran for. It is a storyline that deals with a different story arches, all of which are nicely woven together and entwined, and director Blue Cheng-Lung Lan did a great job at bringing the stories to life on the screen.
"A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool" is a movie about Xiao-Wei (played by Chia-Hung Tsai), whom has Down Syndrome and falls in love with Blue (played by Shu-Yao Kuo), whom he believes is a mermaid. But it is also the story of Xiao-Wei's mother who has to struggle with dealing with a disabled son and her husband's affair. And it is the story of Kauff, whom makes an unlikely friendship with the carefree Xiao-Wei. And it is the story of Blue, a prostitute whom finds a companion with the somewhat simple Xiao-Wei.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, but they had gotten together a great cast with some very talented actors and actresses. And the actors and actresses brought the movie to life in a very real and heartfelt manner, making it quite the experience to watch on the screen.
I have to say that "A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool" is a movie that hits home hard and it sticks with you. Not only because of the great storyline, but also because of the detailed character gallery, and because of the great performances by the cast ensemble.
This is definitely a movie that I warmly recommend for people to sit down and watch, even if you are not overly keen on Asian cinema. The story told in "A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool" is one that is universal and easily can find a home in the heart of any audience, regardless of nationality.
My rating of "A Fool in Love, Love Like a Fool" lands on a well-deserved eight out of ten stars.

When traveling to Taiwan, I didn't think too much to pick this movie, just by its name. It is so different from my guess; yet I wouldn't watch if I knew the key topics the movie are about, as I thought those issues in hidden corners of everyday's life and in society will never be "solved". This movie wouldn't "solve" them either, but it did give me and other audience many better ways to look at it again. The movie has many "sad-laughters"; when life is at times ridiculous, those "unlucky" ones, as connected in the plot, just formed a beautiful sad yet full of life reflections. Don't want to spoil anyone not yet watch it. So, didn't write specific here.
