Recommended for anyone working with politics or interested in the field.
This subtly shows the disparaging reality of fascism, communism and how nationalism is used to support either side (the nation with fascism and the people with communism). The big white elephant being the notion that you always have an army; either your own or someone else's. The acting stumbles at times but in a manner that alleviates the notion of the actors being actors, it simply strengthens the story.
Masterpiece? There are several key pieces of the puzzle here; the plot, the trembling steps inbetween right and wrong (who is in the right?) - good writing, the acting, most of the effects (cheap but realistic to large extent), the little locale and the ability to build suspense nonetheless. How this was looked by internationally is suprising to say the least, then again we live in fascist days.
Yes this does lend inspiration from several other movies such as 12 angry men (1957), The usual suspects (1995) and others it's a mystery/drama/thriller with tiny elements of war in it.
