This is my first time leaving a review. I am a huge fan of Karisma so naturally I would be biased and my rating probably reflects that. I'm really shocked by all of the good reviews this show is getting. The show is done in hinglish and when the actors are saying the english lines it sounds like they are reading from a paper. so forced and unnatural. The show was really predictable and the acting was bad. There is some potential but they need to make it more desi instead of these rich wannabe American moms. The characters were so contrived and just OTT. It was interesting to see what India thinks Americans moms sound like. Too many dated cliches that no one has used for 30 + years.

MENTALHOOD REVIEW :-
Parenthood aka Motherhood is blessing. Is it really? A blessing can turn into hectic and so does Mentalhood... The rules of parenting have changed. Every mother has her own strategy and some have their own game, with only one aim - to be the best of the best. School life of childrens is one of those toughest period in every parent's life and kids doesn't even realise it untill they turn parents themselves. ZEE5 and AltBalaji collaborates to explore struggle and conflicts of parenthood in new webseries titled "Mentalhood"
Karisma Kapoor returns on screen with the bang. Obviously, this is not a silver screen but her impact felt till that level. Sandhya Mridul is outstanding as Ajo and you'll find her character so dashing yet innocent. Tilotima Shome and Shruti Seth have done well in thier roles of typical moms with having problems by thier husbands. Shilpa Shukla is bold, strong and commendable throughout the series. Dino Morea is the only male Mom in this series manages to leave an impact through his conviction as caring and responsible father. Sanjay Suri in the role of Karisma's husband too looks good. Child actors brings the innocent and naturality with thier cute faces.
The success story of Mentalhood lies within its writing. It gets going so easily with out daily life activities and we don't even realise when it turns ugly and we start feeling bad. I myself never realised that my Mother had faced so many issues while i growing up. Now it's time to acknowledge our parent's hardwork and thank them for doing so much for us. That's where Mentalhood celebrates its victory.
Director Bhawna Rawail takes you to the different world of Parenthood with the ease and convinces you to believe every small thing happening there. On screen showcase of Parenthood would have never got better than this and the credit goes to Producers and directors. Every single episode unfolds different chapter of Motherhood that we all experienced once but never recognised it as a problem. Mentalhood doesn't disappoint in any section of storytelling whether it is acting, writing, screenplay, music, production design and direction. Overall, Mentalhood is a blessing to watch. Motherhood explored like never before and most probably never again. This one deserves your take for your lovely parents.
RATING- 6/10*

Reminiscent of issues-based sitcoms like 'Wagle ki Duniya' and 'Rajni' and 'Sheldon', except this one is about parenting and motherhood.
Good concept, but the godawful LOUD background music drowns the dialogues. And there are no subtitles on the Zee5 app (in March 2020).
All act decently, but Tillotama Shome is the saving grace.

The series marks the debut of Karisma Kapoor into Web series universe along with the ensemble cast which we haven't seen in a while including Dino Morea, Shilpa Shukla, Sanjay Suri, Sandhya Mridul, Tillotama Shome & Shruti Seth.
The series revolves around different types of mother's like working mother, Housewife's, separated including a single father to fulfill its responsibility as both a Father and a Mother, having different and multiple personal and domestic problems yet trying to become best for their children's. Series features the daily life race Moms indulge into for their children and how they handle different type of tantrums of their child's at different level of their ages.
Series follows back and forth with pattern of hits and misses.
Hits includes the grand scale production along with the performances of all the ladies as Mothers supported fairly by male casts as father's also I would like to mention Dino Morea who had both the charm and coolness for being a single dad.
Misses would follow the writing which wanted to cater multiple issues and segments within 10 episodes plot including Homosexuality and Surrogacy. Issues like child molestation was something that started off well but its drop scene was way too disappointing. If writers wanted to cater that diversified modern day issues, they could've just increased the number of episodes to fully justify what they opened with proper closing.
Also, series revolves around the Elite class of the society where everything could be the issue but the money but yet again it's from Balaji's and you can aspect this from them as they are portraying this glorified societies elite since 2000's and that to with a success.

I loved the show in the first two episodes but it shows that Bollywood style mother drama. series is coming up with a old idea but a quiet different concept.
so it's best if you want a family drama show.

I hope you understand that all the super positive reviews are rigged.

All those mothers struggling everyday to make ends meet and to bring a balance between work life and family time, is portrayed here quite effectively!
Don't go by these ratings. They are rigged. The show is dull and painfully poorly acted in

You cannot miss out on this. This show is that good. The creativity, concept, direction, cast and everything in between is something to look out for!
Bakwaas!!! Mental exhaustion from watching stupidity. Stopped watching after 3 episodes, as I give any show I start 3 episodes. Never again!!! Karishma never had any talent. Then they put the loser Dino in this. These were 2 signs this was gonna suck!!
For everyone else, it might depend a bit more on whether you're a genre fan or not, but if you do like intense thriller, Mentalhood is for you!

It is cringeworthy. Loud, one-dimensional characters reinforcing typical stereotypes about women with children. The lead female characters unapologetically shame each other and use devaluing and toxic behaviour. This is not how adults communicate in a civil society. The characters have no concept of boundaries and self awareness. This show offers no new perspective on modern day challenges of motherhood instead it reinforces the stereotypes.

This TV show has fast become one of my new favorites. The extremely funny dialogue and relatable portrayals of what its like to be a woman dealing with the challenges that come along with being a mum, is a definite must watch.
