Featured review
It takes some time for this Wicked release to grow on you, as Jessica Drake's script is unusually serious for a porn video. She and partner/director Brad Armstrong try hard to make a real movie, a commendable approach (and probably less feasible 14 years later when all-sex is drowning out Adult storytelling).
It's a vehicle for Wicked contract star Carmen Hart, cast as a young married woman facing a Peggy Lee "Is that all there is?" life crisis. Her happy marriage to upwardly mobile Randy Spears is going along well enough, but she mentions to friend Austin Kincaid that she wants more. Austin diverts Carmen's attention with an instant 5-girl orgy by the pool, but a key scene with director Brad sets up the movie's central situation.
Brad, Carmen and Randy are all guests at Marcus London's barbecue, and having just met Brad and Carmen find a moment of truth in the bathroom where she wants to give into temptation. The scene (and Brad) freezes, and Carmen speaks Drake's central dialog about how a momentous decision can literally change one's life. She gives into the moment and services Brad with a blow job before they go back to the party.
The drama escalates from there in a soap opera fashion, with plenty of infidelity and disappointment, leading to a very fine, carefully constructed surprise ending that is a testament to Drake's creativity as a screenwriter.
