In 2018, Sean Roberts Metcalfe revealed to Rakib Erick that he lived in a shack (later used for filming) for almost one year to have a break from everything and wanted to be isolated. That inspired Rakib to write the script for Boshack.
Due to no budget and tight schedule, the entire film was shot in one day.
