The movie asserts that the nearest abortion facility in a state without parental involvement laws is 1,000 miles away. Illinois, right next to Missouri, has no parental involvement laws for underage abortions.
The premise is that a teenager can't get an abortion in Missouri without parental consent. But Missouri facility Hope Clinic for Women explained on its website how they provide teens with free legal representation to get a judicial bypass. There would be no need for a teen to travel out of state to keep her parents in the dark about an abortion.
